Remember "Mr. Ghostbusters", crazy ol' Ray Parker Jr.?

Are there people you miss seeing, or hearing, in mass media?

I was just thinking the other day how music has changed, and there's stuff you just don't hear anymore.

I thought it was a thread about Bellamo.

But yeah...the one hit wonders...where do they go? Are they like the cat toys that vanish?

I doubt that the one-hit wonders are legal tender on Catopia, so they probably don't get teleported there.

I know at least one of those One Hit Wonders who looked great in leather pants. (The fun begins after the hostess introduces Matthew Wilder.)

Sorry, but it had to be done.

See, now you guys have me thinking about a favorite actor.

What's Christopher Lloyd been up to lately?

My reason for asking is one of legacy.

Christopher Lloyd reminds me of Dudley Moore - there was a time when both actors seemed to be in every movie. In the case of Dudley Moore you know when you see him which decade the movie was filmed. Christopher Lloyd never had a moments break between movie projects, but now he must be in his 80's.

^ Dudley modelled his performance in Arthur on the 'lovable lush', Foster Brooks. Foster had told Dudley the secret: sober people try to act drunk, but drunk people try to act sober. You can see that in Dudley's performance.

Unfortunately, Dudley was diagnosed with 'progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP', a brain disease similar to Parkinson's. Near the end of his acting career, people thought he was going to word drunk, and drinking 'on the job'. He wasn't. It was his palsy.

I saw an interview with Dudley when he was still able to give them and he said that losing his ability to play the piano was his biggest regret.

Dudley died on March 28, 2002.

Matthew Wilder often shows up on lists of one-hit wonders. The young kids know him as the composer for the soundtrack for "Mulan"!

I never saw an interview where Wilder said he was gay but, if you look gayer than the Solid Gold dancers, you're reeeaaaalllyyyy gaaaaaayyyyyy.

Thought that casting Russell Brand as Arthur in the remake was a stroke of genius.

^ I would too, except that now that Brand has his head so far up his own ass, he doesn't come off as someone with a sense of self-parody or joy.

Not sure if that was required for the role, but then I didn't watch either movie carefully.

Maybe Brand was typecast, like David Bowie in The Man Who Fell to Earth?
