When bad videos happen to good songs!

I love watching music videos on MTV hits before I leave for work and on the weekends but I hate when I see a bad video for a good song. Sometimes I wonder what was that director thinking at the time. Shouldnt a video resemble the song at least some? Thats why they remade stars go blind by Paris. Cause the first one was all about her and thats it lol.

As much as I love the whole CHAIR concept, I think you're right on the money for this one. I LOVE the song, but the video - not so much!

I liked the whole "I break stuff" concept but yeah, the video was horrible

Such an AWESOME song but the video made me feel like "WTF just happened?" lol

Some video I thought could be better:

HUNG UP, Madonna - Like, wtf is running around doing aerobics having to do with someone not calling you? LOL Great song, dumb video!

IRONIC, Alanis Morissette - Mmk, shes driving in a car with four of herself. LMFAO

IT'S LIKE THAT, Mariah Carey - Okay, you and your girls are on the floor like WHAT in a BALLROOM? WTF is that? You came to have a party and drink bacardi...in a BALLROOM? lmfao

Monica's videos for "Street Symphony", "The First Night" and, dear GAWD, "Angel of Mine" from 1998's The Boy is Mine CD were horrendous! After doing such a well-conceived Joseph Khan directed video with Brandy for "The Boy is Mine" she eventually fell flat on her face with Angel of Mine. That's what happens, I guess, when you hire Diane Martel to shoot your videos.

Another Awesomely Bad video for a good song: Martel broke on the scene directing that weird nonsense for Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover". Seriously. That was horrible even for the early 1990's.

Diane Martel's just a horrible director. But that's for another topic.

all hip hop vids are kinda the same and need to move away from the bling and half naked chicks...it's getting ridiculous.

I LOVE Monica, and I thought Street Symphony was the better of those mentioned. The First Night was just weird, and Angel Of Mine - that guy is just NOT HOT.

Granted, out of the other videos for The Boy Is Mine CD, Street Symphony was the better of the lot (except, like I said, the title song's video with Brandy was rather innovative for that time), but I still hated it. Her weave was a mess and it was just too much BLUE going on for me.

And the Angel of Mine video, aside from being a trainwreck from the first frame of film, made absolutely no sense at the end. He's all lying with his head in her lap, then there's a knock at the door... and then nothing ever comes of it.

I'll see if I can locate the video for you. It's a beautiful video of her in a flowing white gown near a pool...thats all I remember from it lol. But yeah, my favorite song from that record would have to be I Keep It To Myself. Just - a lot of meaning in such a short song.

I'm not sayign either of these two are particularly great songs, though they'r enot bad either, but their videos bothered the hell out of me.

Survivor and Cater 2 U were awful, awful vidoes, particularly Survivor. It looked like a comedy sketch.

I love Brandy but I feel Monica has the better vocal ability. Brandy has AWESOME songs but for some reason, she just doesnt measure up to Monica. I LOVE Brandy's voice but lately her songs have kinda....sucked lol

Much better than Angel of Mine... I think this concept actually should've been used for Angel of Mine instead of that Martel garbage. When I bought the CD way before the video came out, I always pictured Monica singing it wearing white and outdoors for some reason. But Inside was better. But I understand why it wasn't released in the States.

I'm almost ashamed to admit this, but that's true. I think Monica's always been ghetto. Miss Thang (the mature diva beyond her years) was just an image her A&R used to promote her as a teenager. But when I read articles and blurbs about her and her friend committing suicide, and being involved with C-Murder and him going to prison, and her having some baby out of nowhere and a whole bunch of other shit... I'm like, "I WAS FOOLED!! THIS GIRL IS STRAIGHT GHETTO!!"
