Went to see Mom and Dad today, she knew I was coming and trapped me with mashed potatoes, stuffing and baked chicken with creole seasoning. I had seconds thirds.


Just as my stomach swells and begs me to stop.... I saw the tray of rice Krispy treats.

Not spicy like I thought it'd be. Really flavourful almost like a dry bbq rub. On a scale of 0-10 for heat it's a -5 so if you're looking for spicy try literally anything else.

In my dreams. I wake up crying.

Dreams have been the only way of seeing my parents for years.

Unfortunately, some of thr dreams of my mother are nightmares that replay aspects of her poor health at the end of her life. It was bad enough living through that when it happened. I don't need or want a reminder.

To answer the title, my mother passed in 2016. A few years ago my father found me on FB, but we only talked a few times before he decided he didn't want to talk to me anymore.

Last time I saw my mum and dad.. Dad in 2022, almost 93. My dad a living a little to long. Dementia and having to agree to put him in a nursing home for his own safety a year before he died. My mum died in 2010 of cancer. She was 78. I am 1 of 9 and I was her favorite child. My brothers and sisters made a joke about it for years before my mum admitted it. As she said, I never had to worry about Eddie and I could talk to him when I was worried about all of you at different times in your lives.

Wow to read these posts. Dad died of cancer, mom died in her sleep, I was talking to these amazing people until the day they died. I only wish others could feel my peace.
