Where do you get STD tests?

ok...kind of a silly question...but can you get STD tests just from your regular physician or do you have to go to a special doctor?
 
I go every 3 months.

Once a year my doctor does it.

The other times I go to a facility run by the county health department - it's free.
 
Unless you're planning on filing it on your insurance, use a public health clinic or Planned Parenthood to save money. It can be expensive if you have it done through your family doctor.
 
Do not, I repeat, do not get tested through your regular doctor. The only testing, as far as HIV is concerned, that you should get is annonymous which is typically offered through public health and gay friendly non-profits such as AIDS Project or Atlas. If you are tested through a regular doctor and test positive it is their legal duty to report your case to the state, who can in turn leak it to your work and family. Give yourself time to regroup and cope without having to worry about losing your job and family before you can process it yourself. Not to mention it is cheaper too.
