Yeah, it's a problem. I don't like gay bars (please don't flame me for that!), and when I go to ordinary bars or other meeting places I never know if a guy is just being friendly or has something else in mind.

Maybe a little sex talk would help, like mentioning some babe in a movie, or maybe -- cautiously -- mentioning some hot-looking athlete, to see how he reacts. Or maybe you could complain about "not getting enough lately."

Since I don't really know your town, it's hard to say where they are in your town, but having been born in raised in a small town (if you are kind enough to even call it a town), I can relate to your frustration about meeting people. The only thing that I can suggest would be to develop some close relationships with some friends, so that you are comfortable talking about your sexual needs, desires, and preferences with them. You may discover that they have similar desires, or that they know people who do and are willing to introduce them to you. You may be pleasantly surprised that some of your single friends in this small town are also "closeted bisexuals" or "closeted gays" as a result of the perceived reactions of others in the community. Once you are willing to talk about your sexual preferences with your friends, a whole new world within your community may start to open up. Don't depend on "gay-dar" or "bi-dar", as I think you described it...at some point, you're gonna just have to ask...
