i was

after i turned 18 i became an assistant scoutmaster

then i became an explorer advisor. the group waas into "high adventure" ... backpacking and other outdoor activity ... the group went all over the US and into Canada on excursions, sometimes for weeks at a time

we would backpack for 2 or 3 weeks ... or canoe in the Quetico of Canada for 4 or 5 weeks at a time. It was a great bunch of guys and gals ....

I joined the boyscouts for three days only, just to see what it was all about. On the third day, I ended up kidnapped and tied to a tree while my group was playing cowboys and indians to "free me". Despite what you'd think, it was not sexy at all nor could I have associated anything sexual with it at all.

I was an awkward kid.

I was, only because my best friend in 3rd grade was in it. I dropped out after about a month or so because I thought the uniform looked stupid.

I was for a few years. Maybe 3 or 4. I almost got the hots for my unit captain or whatever it was called. In one camp we were in the same camp tent. Looking back now, in another life, when he once asked me did I want to go for a walk after hours I'd probably steal a kiss.

I sort of regret not taking it. Of course there'd be the possibility of him complaining and I'd be in trouble & so on, but....he was a little cute. Sort of Mediterranean boy I think.
