Using your own definition of "best", which OS is Microsoft's best?

I have a pretty good idea of what the result would be, based on what others have said previously. But I'm just curious...

I like Vista, but there is so much that I have that won't run on it that I have sat up my old computer and am now running XP again.

I loved NT.

3.51 w/ shell update, then 4.0 (!)

Never had any problems with it. Hell, I was running NT4 up until a couple years ago.

I would likely still be running NT4 if it weren't for the fact that M$ ceased SPs for it.

Ah, well, things change I guess.

And, FWIW, I loved DOS too.

Windows 2000 is my favorite windows release. It doesn't require any silly 30 day validation period, it doesn't try to phone home to justify its existence... it just does what you want it to do.

granted, it's very easy to defeat all those "features," it's just nice not to have to take those things into account whenever you find yourself doing a fresh install.

oh yeah, one more thing: you guys forgot windows 2003 in your list.

Hmmm...I guess I thought that Windows 2000 would be much higher, given what I've heard from other JUBbers.
