I'm quite inconsistent with my music tastes. I change a lot. My favourite band one week will be ignored for all of the next few months.

At the moment, my favourite musician is Frank Turner, a shoutyfolk acoustic troubadour with a cannibal corpse sticker on his guitar. He used to sing for Million Dead, by the way.

Other favourites are:
  • Newton Faulkner, the ginger dreadlocked acoustic funk virtuoso who is known to cover the theme from Spongebob Squarepants at gigs, with full seafarer-style voice
  • Stone Sour, with Corey and Jim from Slipknot. I just got their album a few weeks ago, it's ace.
  • Lost in a Name, a young pop-punk band who added me on Myspace a while back, and are some of the nicest people I've chatted to over that site. Vocals need a bit of grit, but are note perfect, and the instruments combine fantastically well.
  • Malpractice, an electronica rock band, and an underground supergroup in my opinion. The guitarist used to be in one of my favourite bands of all time - 'A' - and although they've only really got rough demos on myspace and seemingly no official recordings, I saw them live recently. They're brilliant. And I got a free shirt off them. Oddly enough, their singer is drum 'n' bass legend Adam F.

Well for me it is currently the Shillelagh Sisters - described as a "cow-punk rockabilly" group. Unfortunately they disbanded in the 80's - but I recently rediscoverd them whilst converting some of my old vinyl to mp3 format - I was lucky enough to track down one of their long deleted CD's "Sham' Rock And Roll" from Amazon in the past week. So for now they are my "in-band"

Like you though my taste changes all the time - except of course for Abba.:D

Cansei de Ser Sexy and Bonde do Role
Two of the most amazing bands I've ever heard. They should be changing the way everybody listens to music. And both are the best live acts I've ever seen

I was tempted to go see CSS, they toured around where I am a while back, I think.

Wait.

You're from Hartlepool? You probably went to that exact gig! :D

Every so often I completely break contact with my favorite band DMB and listen to tons of other stuff. Right now is one of those times, probably will last for another month or two.

But I've been listening to a lot of older stuff that I liked a long time ago. Sarah McLachlan, Savage Garden, Matchbox 20. Also, listening to lots of Aaron Copland, Gustav Holst, and dare I say it.... Fergie. Come on, she's hilarious.

As I've gotten older, I've become less focused on individuals or on particular bands. I just listen to so many different things. If I'm really into someone particular at the moment, it may last for a few days, then I move on. But I'm also very loyal so I never forget my people. In recent times, I've really grown an appreciation for instrumental music. I can honestly do without any new music in which people are singing. I can still enjoy that, but I'm content with the things that we've already been given. But I'm always interested in discovering new instrumental music that I can enjoy- mostly new age.

Still digging the Ratatat Classics CD.

Really enjoying the new Editors single. Looking forward to the full length.

Continuing to avoid using a personal pronoun in this post.

I just rediscovered Fefe Dobson and her CD rocks! She has this pop punk thing going on and I dig it!

I listen to a Mariah Carey song at LEAST once a week so I guess you can say that I'm into her too.

I also got back "The Spirit Room", Michelle Branch's debut disc and I'm liking that too.

I have some videos on my mp3 player and what I watch mostly is Mandy Moore's "Candy" and Mariah Carey's "Thank God I Found You".

Yes, I'm a big pop fan!

Right now I can't stop listening to Kate Bush. Her early stuff, particularly Lionheart is addicting. The Sensual World has got to be one of the sexiest songs. I scared the shit out of my little sister when I played The Dreaming (the song, not the album) for her. The sheep bawing creeped her out.

I'm also listening to this ridiculously catchy album Ochenta's (80's) by Soraya Arnelas. It's pure trashy covers. Raf's Self Control, Spagna's Call Me, Bruce Springsteen's (Patti Smith's) Because The Night, Real Life's Send Me An Angel, etc.

Amerie! Just bought her recent album Because I Love It and it's really fantastic. Only started getting into her music after hearing 1 Thing. She reminds me of Jennifer Lopez, with good music and sophisication that J-Lo lacks.

I'm into both Paul Oakenfold and Ferry Corsten right now. Just thank BPM 81 on XM.

I like Amy...but i can't get into 'Rehab'. I don't get why people rave about it. Its a novelty song wrapped up.

The album is fantastic though

i'm really into Amy Winehouse right now. loving her album

Low - I've been listening to their new album "Drums and Guns" lately. Also their previous album "The Great Destroyer." Love this band.
