Well the guy I'm currently chasing I met through a friend at a concert, so you don't have to go to gay bars or use websites to find someone.
You can meet people anywhere, just gotta have the balls to say something to a stranger!!

If you want to meet gay guys, you gotta either go where the gay guys are, or else go where a lot of people are - at which point you get to know people, gay and straight, and try to foster relationships that way.

You can meet a potential boyfriend anywhere.....trips, camping, movies, resturants, parties, concerts, online, offline, fellow renters...the list just goes on and on.

Gay bards and hookup sites are just another way to meet somebody. Truthfully though what you need is that "spark". You find somebody and that "spark" happens...not even time and space can stop you from getting together!

Keeping all the channels open is how you meet up your guy.

Avoid any prejudice and go to the places, real or virtual, you are comfortable with.

Show some persistance, paitience and yeah, some guts...

haha love how people say "just move" its hardly that simple is it? I mean you need a job, somewhere to move into, if its your first time buying you'll need or mortgage or to have to rent.... loads of things its not as easy as just get up and move! Then thats not taking into account family ties, friends etc moving hundreds of miles or worse across the country is hard enough without having to deal with being "alone" in a new place!

Well I'm not from the US so aint got a clue where you're on about, but if you register to a gay singles//dating website I'm more than 100% positive that their will be other gay people in your area. You've just gotta keep looking or do as I did and not look and it just kinda happened. Just going to have to get yourself out there and try and meet someone, no point coming to the forums as we really can't meet someone for you!!

I'm from a "hick" town. Guess what I'm not moving either. I like it here. Now of course that means meeting a guy like me is going to be very, very hard but nothing is impossible...just improbable. You don't have to move away at all. Just need transportation or a friends network. Basically need to make connections. You find one that way for sure. At least that's what I'm hoping to have happen!

If you are in a large city, there is most likely a gay community center or a gay switchboard. You probably have a few colleges in the area that have gay student unions. Do a search on the web using ‘gay’ and your city’s name as the search criteria. I’m sure you’ll come up with something.

Community centers and college groups usually have activities that bring people gay people together around some common interest, such as sports, religion, books, movies, etc.

That is a valid question. I'm not really even trying to date anybody I am having a hard time coming across any men that are always trying to hit on me. I'm just trying to make friends with other gay/bi men. It is quite annoying to always be seen as a piece of men rather than as a person.

Good question. I only know of friends of friends of mine who are gay (and unavailable). I've sometimes gone to the gay street in Melbourne's city center but I won't spend money on buying club membership of $20 or so. It's annoying.

And don't knock the dating sites etc. My guy and I met through one and started hanging out. We clicked and have been together over a year now.
