I remember the final scene...so fitting that the final scene was with Rachel.

On YouTube there is a 7 part series of tributes on Another World hosted by Linda Dano (Felicia Gallant) and it has been added to my favourites.

Here is Part 1

The final shot of Mac in the picture frame, classy.

NBC produced Passions inhouse and bought AW from an outside source, the move was always claimed to be a cost saving measure.

i never really forgave them for killing off Ryan Harrison and Frankie Winthrop--especially Frankie. i do miss some of the hot-ass guys they had though...my favorite being Grayson McCouch, who's aging NICE!!! i thought Les Brandt(Rafael) and Mark Mortimer(the last guy to play Nick Hudson) were hot too.

i just remembered HATING Felicia with a passion after she started sleeping with John

speaking of soaps...where the hell is Renegade Killerbee? one of the few who's posts i actually look forward to.

Watched it for years and years - I'd forgotten that Rachel wound up with Carl. Thx for the memories !

As a kid I remember my Mom saying that Steve and Alice were daytime's supercouple. The Alice/Steve/Rachel triangle was a real big deal at the time. Robin Strasser was a great bitch as Rachel. I was shocked to find out later that George Reinholt, who played Steve, was gay.

I loved AW and was glad to see it back on Soapnet. I was hoping that it would last there so that they could get to where stories I remembered came into play. When I was younger I loved watching all of Felicia's crazy outfits, loved Frankie, and LOVED Judi Evans. I always wish that it would find a new home and start up from like 94 so i could really get into it.

My partner was an another world addict. He watched it for years. He got me hooked on it too.I thought Victoria wyndham was an amazing actress.
I don't watch soaps, but that one was really good.I miss it and i know my partner really misses it.:=D:

I wonder whatever happened to Beverly Mckinsey...You remember her as Iris Macs Daughter.

I haven't watched soaps for years but was an avid fan of "All My Children" back in the late 1970s/early 1980s. My mom used to watch "The Edge of Night", "The Doctors", and "Secret Storm" when I was just a li'l fella. :-)

i know people are going to hate me for this but i actually liked passions even though nbc canceled it and it moved to dish network which was extremely stupid.

Apparently now also cancelled there as well. But another station (?) deciding to take it over or not.

i know there were a few online petitions floating around to save the show. i signed, but it doesn't really matter since i don't have direct tv.

Well for one am one that Loved Another World and was sad to see it go but also throught Passions was great. I mean it was totally differnt, made fun of itself, and was just great fluff in general. Although NBC and Passions would have done better keeping AW dropping Sunset Beach and making Passions a half hour. just personal opinion but that would have saved their daytime schedule. At least we have Days for 12 more months.

I felt that Beverlee McKinsey was the best Iris...I hated it when Carmen Duncan took over the role...the character was just not the same.

Beverlee no long acts and has declined all entreaties to return to television http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverlee_McKinsey

i think Beverlee as Iris was before my time, so Carmen's the only one i know. i actually kinda liked her i think. LOVED Beverlee's Alex on Guiding Light though. can i ask you which of the Vicky/Marley's you preferred. i've only seen Anne Heche and Jensen Buchanan i think her name is, in the role. most definately preferred Anne but Jensen really started to grow on me after awhile

I started watching in mid 1983 so unfortunately i missed Beverlee as Iris. I thought Carmen Duncan was great though. As far as the Vicky/Marly debate. Jensen Buchanan never really got the chance to play both parts alot as she wanted to concentrate on only playing Vicky. As much as I loved Jensen, I would have to say that Anne Heche was best at playing both. (though Ellen Wheeler did a good job as both also in the mid 80's.)
On a side note, it's great to see that so many of the posters for this thread are so young. Must have been very young when you started watching the show. I think that's great.
Another World was one of the best ever. Sorry make that, was THE best show on daytime, and was always at the top of the ratings here in Canada, even when it was low everywhere else.

Not quite sure what all she's been doing for the past 8.5 years, but I did catch her on an episode of Law & Order. SVU late last year. I beleive it is the first t.v. acting she's done since the show went off the air. She was the best person on Another World as far as I'm concerned. Which is saying alot for the amount of talent that the show had.

I remember spending many a afternoon during summer vacation watching Days at 1:00, then Another World at 2:00and Guiding Light at 3:00, while the other kiddies were outside playing tag or whatever atrocious little destructive games they could come up with. Another World was my favorite. Especially when crazy ol' Anne Heche played the Victoria/Marly role.
