Those who ask questions beginning "Why are all gay people..." are clearly distancing themselves from the category of 'gay'. They might be straight-curious; straight-inflammatory; undecided; or gay identified but uncomfortable with what they perceive as the necessary identifying features of gaydom - whatever the reason - they see 'gay' as 'other'.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's simply the instability of a man struggling to define his place in the world while still in thrall to the idea that in order to be acceptable he has to behave like everyone else. This usually dissipates with the years.

In fact gay people are just as thin/fat, ugly/beautiful, old/young, liberal/fascist, rich/poor, black/white, stupid/clever as anyone else in the world.
