I've lost two jobs, all by my own hand, hated the damn things but i couldn't get any unemployment money for weeks if i quit, so i made them fire me. :lol:

How did you lose your job ?

I was never fired from a job, not that I didn't deserve to be a few times. All the jobs that I ever "lost" were due to lack of work so I was put on layoff.
The lack of work was due to a down turn in the economy and then of course shit head trade agreements that put Americans out of work.

Are you all for America First then ?

I've never lost a job. The only one I ever left was by me quitting. I started the next job the following Monday

not surprised you lost jobs--I mean how can you do a job and be on this site 24-7:lol:

Any man that is not for his country first is a traitor in my opinion, so yes, I am for America first.
No worries. President Trump is fixing things ☺.

As for me, the only job I "lost" is when I sent my boss flying accross my office because he tried to hit me for having my cell phone on my desk. Two weeks after the incident my position became redundant and hevtried to make me train my replacement. I refused and it infuriated him. I made his life hell, and he mine, till the very last day. The next day he had three people doing my job and I went to a lawyer. A year later he decided to settle out of court and I never returned to working for anyone else ever again.

I was laid off in 2002 due to corporate accounting fraud by the execs. The former CEO is now rotting his miserable ass in prison for it. Remember Enron and Worldcom? I worked for Worldcom.

The bosses didn't understand the new software they bought and thought that it should cut my work. Instead it required a few more key strokes and actually increased my worktime. Because of my long time loyalty to the firm, they decided to lay me off instead of fire me so it didn't look bad on my record. They eventually fired my replacement and a couple of employees left because of the way we were treated. It worked out for me because I was beginning to have a health problem about then and I eventually got another job.

Never lost a job. I left the RAF, bought myself out, to go to uni.

The only way i would lose this job was if i was to jump the bones of a patient, or kill someone through gross negligence.

Some companies simply don't have the right management for the particular job. Back when I was in IT, we regularly got deadlines for projects that simply didn't make sense. For example, they would give us 2 months to do something that only took 2 weeks to do and 2 weeks for something that would take 2 months to do. And they never understood that just because they demanded that coding be done by tomorrow doesn't mean it will actually be done. You can't rush programming and expect quality results. And unlike most other things in life, like construction and paperwork, programming doesn't necessarily go faster the more manpower you throw at it. You can't simply throw a dozen people at a subroutine thinking that will get done in 2 seconds because there's a dozen guys working on it.

The person I was working with did the same thing with me that he had previously done to his previous prospective partner.

Got rid of us because he was afraid that we would want to be a partner.

Just as well.

The job that I had for the longest period of time lasted 14 years. Most of my jobs were similar as I was a machinist, however I took sabbaticals in to other types of work from time to time.
As for the job that lasted 14 years, it paid well, real well. The benefits were the best I had ever had. Full paid health care and the boss picked up all co-pays and deductibles.

Then along came Beavis and Butt-Head, aka, the bosses kids. Two fat lazy kids. The kiss of death. The were left to run things and knew nothing about what we did. Our customer base dwindled, benefits and hours were cut so, I decided to move on.
The guy who hired me acted like I got him pregnant and was leaving him for another woman.

I always marveled at how an employer could walk up to a worker on Friday at quitting time and tell him not to come back, but that same employer wanted two weeks notice if you decided to quit. My attitude was that he had been using me to support his lazy brat offspring, why should he be surprised when I picked up my tool boxes and moved on.

I don't see leaving a job of one's own volition as as losing a job. That's more like a boss losing an employee.

Well then I've never been fired. But it was a great opportunity because it is a big company that keeps hiring in my area and that is something extraordinary here, and it's close to home. So in a way I lost the job because I didn't want to bend.

For jobs that ended on somebody else's say-so other than my own:

* The sale ended.

* The owner went a bit nutzoid, and decided I was stealing things from her home.

* I threatened to call the labor board.

* I was so good at the job that the boss thought I had faked all the work I had done (seriously).

* Corporate downsizing.

* Corporate downsizing.
