Well, at the moment I'm at my desk and wearing Adidas polar fleece top and sweat pants - two months old, so not crappy & old sweats. It's going to be cold tonight, so I think that's fair enough.
Earlier today when I had to go to the dentist, I wore dark indigo jeans, black suede Boss sport-styled shoes, an RM Williams fitted fine merino black long-sleeve tee, and a black leather Auto jacket with a mid-blue cotton scarf... oh, and Zegna sunnies.
Friday evening I met a friend at the opera to see Otello. My 'ensemble' was put together as matching Italian dark tan belt and lace-up dress shoes with a tastfully elongated squared off toe, but not ridiculously extended as can often be seen; matching socks, dark grey trousers (Boss - new, on sale at Wormland!); lilac fitted shirt (by Joop); matching lilac and dark navy diagonally striped silk tie (C.D); Navy jacket (Boss), and; deep purple silk scarf (Lagerfeld). Elegant and classical, but with a modern cut.
The friend I went with looked pretty spiffy, too! Although to be honest, he wasn't an Australian.
It is sadly true however, that clothes of good quality do cost a lot more in Australia, typically, than they can cost oversees. Even the home-grown items are priced at a rather greedy level. The silliness is that as a result, people either won't buy Australian made or like me they'll buy on the net or ask friends & family to send various things from OS. The clothing and accessories industries in Australia suffer as a result of their own pigginess. And we're often left looking average to crap...
