Can you think of an intesting reason for that? Be creative or just your own thought.

Good question; it happens to me all the time. I've concluded that they do so for either of two reasons: 1) I look "different" or odd (inquisitive looks) 2) I look gay (scornful looks).

I stare for lots of resons, it might be some one is just pleasing to the eyes, or they do something that gets my attention, or they do incredibly stupid things. Like where I work, I noticed a lady at the salad bar, we charge by the ounce for the salad bar, and she put a few items on her plate, then ate of the items, then put more on her plate, then ate more, more items, ate more, all most eating as much as she was putting on her plate. . .I just had to stare at her! I thought we better weigh her!!

I know this is probably not a real creative answer but I think a lot of people just like to watch people with no real reason in mind. If I am in a park or public setting, I oftentimes just enjoy "people-watching". I find people very interesting, not just sexually, but their body language/looks/mannerisms/the way they walk or talk, etc... says a lot about them as people. I sometimes try to guess who they are or what they might do for a living.

People-watching, especially on lengthy journeys on public transport, is a favourite of mine. I try not to stare, but I do look at everyone fairly frequently and guage their responses to conversations around them and anything else that they respond to.

I dunno... it's just fascinating. Maybe I should trade malaria for psychology.

Sometimes I stare because the subject is so damned pretty I can't take my eyes off him or her... and I'm not talking about sexy-pretty (though that has certainly been known to happen), I mean just plain beautiful: men, women, children, dogs, flowers, whatever.

But mostly I stare at people because I'm making up stories about them. People stare at you because you're interesting.

People stare at me to try and figure out what planet I come from.... but then again what can I expect when I go out without putting the paper bag over my head. :bartshock

Sometimes I think it can be a generation gap thing.
Many people of a given generation are critical of the next generations clothing choices, hairstyles, music etc and stare in shock or disbelief "Helen I saw the strangest young man while waiting for you".
Sometimes it's an out of your normal environment situation. Imagine a purple Mohawked punk rocker walking thru a Hassidic neighborhood, or an Amish person passing through a big city ghetto.
Sometimes it's old fashioned admiration and sometimes it can be cruel distaste.
Other times a person might be in deep thought and you just happen to be in their field of (non)vision.
Finally some people deliberately dress or act in a way to get attention and then bitch about being stared at.

I try really hard not to stare...but I love watching people, their body language and expressions tell us so much..
and sometimes......I'm just curious when the bugger will fall... LOL

I only stare at Nametaken.....For the obvious reasons...LOL...;)

Elvin, I should sooooooooooooo be the one staring, why would anybody want ot look at my ugly ass when your amazing one is around! ;)

i stare at dopey lookin peeps. peeps that dont dress proper, peeps with funky hair. lotsa reasons....

People stare at you because you're interesting.

God, I hope that's the truth, RM......

It's just been the past year or so that I seem to notice that people
seem to stare at me. In the mall, at the super market, etc.

An occasional hot guy, but mostly women in their 30's who look at my
left hand for a ring, then at me in general, as if to say, "There's one still
on the market."

It's creepy, really.

And kinda sad.

Or, maybe not. I think everyone is scared shitless of being alone, and sometimes their eyes give them away without their even knowing it.

Alone in a crowd,

Dr. Josh:cowboy:
