I've got both of you beat. I remember sitting on the hood of the DeSoto, with no restraints, and only my left hand on the hood ornament. (I'm a northpaw...I can't remember if the right hand found one of the small fender "portholes" to hang onto as well. I hope so.) This was even when on a gravel road at 40 MPH...

Also, I can think of at least a couple times I would be dead if we weren't in the modern era. Most recently a runaway dental infection after some oral surgery, but taking doxycyclene right away kicked its ass. Eighty years ago no antibiotics existed.
 
^ No, cephalexin (spelling?) not doxycyclene.

Also last year I took a bad spill on a sidewalk and got a nasty case of road rash that I couldn't have irrigated (cleansed) until about three hours later at a clinic. I asked for, and got, a precautionary antibiotic prescription. Cephalexin again; otherwise no clue what could have happened if untreated.

The closest I've come to that is the bow of a cabin cruiser bouncing through waves, and getting drenched with spray. \:/

Exhilarating, and refreshing, as all Heck! (!)

Also, years after DeSotos existed. :lol:
