First, it's Wikipedia, which means fuck-all nothing--anyone can post anything there. Second, there's no "hiv" listed on the page at all.

I don't think I would bet on Wikipedia for that type of information. It seems very private, if it were released as a statement that is one thing, but what is essentially gossip is another.

If true, God speed. If false, I would hope Wiki would take that down asap.

Who says this was done because someone assumed that being gay meant you're positive? How can you be certain this wasn't done by somebody who hated him? There's no proof homophobia or stereotyping was involved.

Kewl on the HIV stauts being removed - true or not it shouldn't be on the site unless it was approved by Mason. BTW I just looked at the calender and it is early 2007.

Well that was certainly a headline that grabbed attention but doesn't appear to have any evidence to support it (i'd feel bad if one of the hottest guys on the planet has HIV). Went to Mason's MySpace and found some intersting reading though...

HIV, Herpes, and CRABS are aboslutely NOT worth one hot night with an army of hot muscled studs. WHY CAN'T MERCK DROP THE HPV ISSUE AND CURE HIV, HERPES, GONORRHEA, SYPHILIS, and HEPATITIS so we can stop worrying about this shit and just let loose in the bedroom. Anybody feel me on this issue?"

I don't know if anyone else saw it but a professional golfer sued someone over a false claim made on wikipedia. I think this entire thread should be deleted since it is only spreading a rumor that has not been proven.

Becuase his article was vandalized. I wouldn't believe his supposed HIV status any more than I would believe some of the other changes that particular user has added to this article, such as "Mason Fucks a Donkey" in the videography section -Todd(Talk-Contribs) 19:35, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

if you look at the versions you see that the article has been reversed multiple times because of vandalism. someone seems not to like mason.
 
Okay, kids, I've edited the thread title to more accurately reflect the nature of the discussion here. It's too bad someone has it out for Mason. He seems like a nice guy.

Jack, I completely understand your reaction--the surprise, etc. It's good that you posted this. It serves as a reminder to all of us not to believe everything we read--especially at wikipedia.
