Spain,Portugal and France all have a thing in common. They are south european countries that allows gay marriages. But,Italy is still waiting for gay marriages.

Italians are not that religious anymore.Mostly younger people.Actually, most italians supports gay rights. So,Italy have a potential to eventually have gay mariages.Italy used to be very religious in the past. But,religion in europe is becoming less and less popular.Theres lots of atheist people in europe. But,central europe and east europe is still very religious.Central europe and eastern europe is basically the equal of south USA.Which means religitards and bigots who let the bible dictate their life.At least, most europeans dont fall in the religious trap.

Do you think Italy will become 1 of the next 5 european countries to allow gay marriages?

Which next 5 european countries you think will most likely have gay marriages?

I think, Germany, Estonia, Austria and Czech Republic may legalize gay marriage prior to Italy.

It will be a long, long time before Italy allows gay marriages.

Italy will equivocate with gay "civil unions" in a few years, so that the country can claim it both ways: it both opposes and allows gay marriage.

But true marriage equality in Italy is another generation or two away.

No.

Slovenia was a test of central Europe's appetite for marriage and it was repealed by referendum, which was a very damaging precedent for coming years.

The next five countries to move forward will be German speaking, and Northern Ireland.

Germany is the keystone, but the country is holding out because of a persistent right wing government even though gay marriage is very popular there. If Germany allows it, then Switzerland and Austria will follow suit, and probably then the Czech Republic. That sequence must happen first, I think, before a government in Italy feels comfortable defying the Vatican on such a major issue especially if Slovenia has another go.

Italy will not be one of the next five.

I doubt it will ever happen in Italy, The Majority are not religious but because of peer pressure go to church and talk about Jesus. At the same time men have mistresses while they profess that they love there wife with tears in their eyes. And of course we can not forget two popes up their butts!

Countries that go to referendum suffer tyranny of the majority.
Religious leaders mobilise their flock to vote en masse while most neutral people aren't affected enough to consider voting essential (it doesn't affect them).

^ Referenda are definitely the tyranny of the angry over the indifferent.

I am surprised Czech Republic didn't legalized gay marriage yet, considering thy produce 50% of European Gay porn.

^ Don't be surprised.

The number one nation for researching gay porn is Pakistan.

Any sign of gay marriage there yet?

I was surprised when referendum was successful in Ireland.
Referendum normally very hard to achieve and cost a lot of money.

I can't see Italy being part of the next five countries to allow gay marriage, but Oliari and Others v. Italy will push them towards at least recognising gay relationships legally.

The next five will come out of those who already recognise civil partnerships such as those already mentioned. Hopefully, Northern Ireland won't take too long now the Republic has legalised gay marriage.

^ Yeah.

What the Fuck is up with Northern Ireland?

^ Yeah.

Unionists being reactionary twits. The assembly voted in favour of it a few months ago, but the DUP have blocked it by using a petition of concern meaning that a majority of unionists and nationalist had to vote in favour of it (a mechanism that is meant to protect minority rights being abused).

It will break though, most of N. Ireland supports gay marriage - the DUP are just trying to hold on to their ultra religious culchies.

I would guess Malta, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and Germany
