This is beyond bizarre.

Will Smith is getting set to make his directorial debut with a big screen take on the biblical story of Cain and Abel.

Deadline reports that the star is developing The Redemption of Cain as an adaptation of the Genesis tale of the first pair of brothers. The Hollywood twist? Cain is revealed to have been a vampire.

The project has been floating about in Hollywood since 2010 when word first leaked that the blockbuster star was considering helming the flick. Now word has it Smith not only wants to direct, but also hopes to star in the picture.

Cain a vampire? And Will starring in it as well? As Cain? As Abel? As Adam?

Oh, and one of the co-writes was Caleeb Pinket. Yup. Jada's little bro. Nepotism is STILL alive and well.

ugh, why Will, why? Biblical movies does not need a freaking twist! i guess Hollywood is outta of ideas

Seriously.

I always thought the Cain and Abel story was interesting and could be fleshed out to be a decent drama. But adding in the vampire aspect makes me think this could be very mindless.

I agree with ya, just make the movie follow the story from the bible, but with no dumb twist. Vampires movies are starting to be overexposure

If Cain was a vampire, who was his Maker?Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....(going into Church Lady mode)let me give a little guess.
SATAN?????!!!!

Well I'm going to guess Pope Cletus the First. A crazy harmless story is just a crazy harmless story until a bunch of people start believing it. And it's only going to be about 10 minutes after this film premieres that some doofus in the audience is going to say "Of course Cain was a vampire! That's why we drink the Blood of Christ™! It all makes sense now!"

It all makes sense now!

It all makes sense now!

It all makes sense now!

It all makes sense now!

I swear people should need a note from a shrink before they're allowed to watch movies - or attend religious services.
