Does anyone have any experience with Windows 7 that is being advertised on TV? Have you formed any opinions?

no personal experience but my computer "nerd" was one of those who selected to first test and review it before public release. (and got to keep his free) said to go stand in line that 7 is what vista was supposed to be and obviously never cut the mustard. both he and his wife raved...and that is putting it mildly.

Got mine ordered after also talking with a person who beta tested. I didn't quite dare to sign up but I guess I should have. My friend said it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Maximum PC magazine reviewed the final build of windows 7 this past month. they agreed it's what vista should have been. they gave it a kick ass award which is about as high as they go in rating things. as with vista though there are multiple versions of windows 7. i believe they recommended that for most home users home premium would be the one to get. having said all that, i used the beta version and it didn't run well on my machine (but it's old, circa 2002) so i wont be upgrading to it.

Used the betas, rc1, and I am now running the RTM.

Gotta upgrade my work computer from rc1 soon!

My thoughts: Love it!

I'm using it now,

It's essentially Windows Vista but it takes less memory to do virtually everything. It's visually more appealing and it's a much better interface IMO.

If you're a student you can get it for $30

I noticed that 30 dollar price for students. Very clever. I heard that it's pretty good too.

I love the acid trip wallpapers.

I want :(

I think my dad is gonna get it soon. I'll ask him how it is and test it out myself.
