When sitting on hold I often will play solitaire on my computer to pass the time.

God damn MS has now started putting ads in between the games of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection unless you pay!

They want me to pay for a game program that has been part of Windows for free for decades! Screw that!

Does anyone know a good free replacement?

Thanks!

Yes I do but not on this computer.
I'll post a link sometime tomorrow.......most likely later than sooner.
I wound up paying the ransom on this computer because this is where I play the most Solitaire but there really is no substitute for the real thing.
CLOSE but no cigar.

Damn -

All of the software is going to "software as a service" with monthly or annual fees.

The problem is so many of them (Office, Quicken) don't have any new features to add that would get me to buy a new version - but I hate the idea of paying a yearly fee!

Here is a desktop version of Solitaire you can purchase and it has everything you could possibly want. I've been playing this one for over 20 years and am still running version 2. One time purchase, the way it should be: https://www.bvssolitaire.com/

Damn that 123freesolitaire seems to be a lot harder to win than the MS solitaire - but it works great.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I can imagine that the issue with ads in the Microsoft Solitaire Collection might have evolved since your original post from three years ago. Technology and software tend to change rapidly.

If you're still on the lookout for free alternatives to Solitaire, you can check out "123 Free Solitaire" or "SolSuite Solitaire." They've been popular choices for a while.
As for the topic of making 10k, well, financial goals can change over time too. If you ever decide to explore ways to boost your income or manage your finances better, you can find insights at how to make 10k. It's always good to have options.

I have been using "123 Free Solitaire" for awhile -

It works great!
