Just so I feel good....

Did anyone else get a weird gay vibe from this show? Because the show was so aggressive when it came to the girls' femininity, I swore that it was the first mainstream drag queen cartoon...It made even the Truly Outrageous Jem seem subtle!

Sorry, but the series just made more to sense to me when I put the entire thing into a Fem/Butch paradigm, as the Winx Academy members included obvious cross-dressers on the faculty and the students were so aggressively fem (either that, or they were extremely sexist ("We'll just have the boys do that" seemed to be the prevailing mood when it came to anything involving work, physical contact, or carrying things around). It just amused me that there was just a huge chasm between the boys and girls; one I hadn't seen since Cheerleader Camp...

Funs series, don't get me wrong; I just that it was much more fun when I looked at it more as a drag school....

I used to watch it now and then when I got up early enough on Sunday morning to see it. It was sort of my guilty pleasure cartoon.
