The gang over at Critical Role have a new animated series on Amazon Prime called:

"The Legend of Vox Machina", episode One aired on 28 January, 2022.

Check out the trailer:

I played D&D back in the 80s. I still have all the books and characters I created. I watched the trailer and, sorry to say, I have no desire to watch it.I don't care for programmes which are a constant chorus of bleeps.

It wasn't the D&D I remember.

Exactly!

The response to "The Legend of Vox Machina", is breaking along the time, and type, of D&D each fan loves best.

The touchstone to the Amazon series is the online ensemble Critical Role, and their across-platform presence, especially Twitter!
Critical Role has a huge fanbase from their "live online" improvisational D&D gameplay, including profanity and over-sexualized banter.

I find this video to be a very interesting review of the first three episodes:

Not D&D but I got into Magic The Gathering card game on my Xbox 360! Wish the Magic RPG game that was in production would have taken off but they canned it!

There's a whole world of ideas and artwork - this genre is wide open to new series, if you can capture the spirit and tone properly.

I was drawn in to "Avatar: The Last Airbender", wonderful character development.

"Castlevania" has a huge following. I'm really hoping that there are other new series in the works.

^Isn't it the geeks and nerds who are doing all the fucking these days?

Surely the role play would be first-class!

Fleshlights don't count.

You gotta admit that some of the animated series and animes are better than the shot that's on How much "real" housewife "reality" do you need? Even some of these medical shows are past their prime greys anatomy, new amsterdam, the resident!

I definitely understand how a new cohort of online D&D fans got totally enchanted by the live action web series, "Critical Role".

A whole studio full of popular voice actors bring D&D gameplay to life, with game master, Matthew Mercer, trying to keep everyone on-topic with all the ad-libs and raunchy jokes.
