From Wikipedia:

Season 2 was in production, but has now been ceased. 26 new episodes were to have been aired and would have focused on the Age of Apocalypse storyline of the comics. At the end of season 1, we see Apocalypse entering a platform with Mister Sinister and Cyclops beside him. During Comic Con 2009, images of season 2 were shown, consisting of Colossus, Magik, Deadpool, Jubilee, and Havok. It was announced that these characters were to appear in season 2. Colossus was to get a reintroductory storyline and would have been a regular character in season 2.

On April 13, 2010, Comics Continuum reported that according to an inside source a second season of the series seems very unlikely.[2] On April 15, 2010, Marvel Animation Age confirmed the recent report that Wolverine and the X-Men will not be returning for a second season.[3] At C2E2, the Marvel animation panel consisting of Joe Quesada, Arune Singh, and Josh Fine stated that the reason for the cancellation is because they were unable to work out the financing for the show with their financing partner.[4]

Two petitions have been made for the show's return, one of which is on PetitionSpot, and are currently being signed by 500 or more fans already.[5][6] A third petition was also added on PetitionsOnline.com on April 17, 2010 proposing to save the show also. A fast growing Facebook group called "5,000 to save Wolverine and the X-Men" was recently created after the rumors of the show's cancellation began to hit the Internet. The group claims that once it reaches its goal, it will contact the appropriate people to either get the show back in production and on the air, or to demand a Marvel animated DVD film to conclude the Age of Apocalypse cliffhanger as seen at the end of season one.

It really sucks that it's canceled over the stupid animation panel not being able to work out financing with their stupid financing partner. I would've loved to see those new characters introduced into the new season and was looking forward to season 2. The show was getting better and better. It's pretty much made by the same team that made X-men Evolution. Join that facebook group if you want a 2nd season. You might not think it's much but petitions have suprised me in the past. It only works i there's enough signatures.

This truly sucks. WATXM was a great show. I was readily anticipating season 2 and now this bull? :/

I know it's just my opinion but I think the series that aired on Fox holds that title.

But anyway WATXM I did have my issues with the show, but it eventually grew on me and I liked it for what it was, now just like the rest of y'all I was looking forward to a new season. But I'm somewhat not surprised they didn't even get a 2nd season, I think if that Woliverine movie did better in the box office we'd probably be seeing a different story.

I challenge you to sit down and re-watch those episodes... I just endured all 5 seasons... and let me tell you how awful the animation is ...especially season 5... its like a bad Knock off... and the writing is atrocious in all the seasons. They stole the soul from the X-men.

I admit I haven't watched the show since it first aired on TV. I thought the show was awesome when I was a kid, I don't know if I'd feel the same in now. But do you think you think they at least handled the Pheonix better, as compared to WATXM?

I don't really think so... when you take the core material and butcher it and pass it off as the original...it doesn't quite work out the same way... They also didn't show her destroying a star system or committing suicide.

At least in WATXM they kinda used the "Phoenix as her subconscious" like they did in Ultimate X-Men. Rather than make it some sort of incredibly all powerful being.

OMG. I'm so sad! This was the best out of all the animated series! they had to canceled it

Did Season 1 air in the United States?
Where can I see this show?
you can go to sidereel (put www & com) to download or/and watch episodes of WATX...

I've seen all episodes (totally LOVED each episode) and i've been waitin' so long for the 2nd season and now this sh*t! (sigh)
