It seems to me that especially when you're younger(school/college age), there is a strong idealistic belief that sex should come naturally. Or that you are to get the person who is Right for you and then sex will come with it.

Here I'm assuming that you are reasonably healthy, sexy and attractive to somebody. But even when you're up and ready for it and you are desperately looking for it, you find it that other people are not ready for you, or are outside your standards. So you sit there and wait...

Wouldn't it just be easier to pay for it and get it over with ?

Paying for sex is so 'gay'....lol! Well, in one sense I must admit that I have...meeting someone online or at a club and then buying dinner and/or drinks, and having sex afterwards (sometimes).......guess that would quality!

There have been lots of people in my life who told me that marriage was paying for sex. I didn't really feel that way until I found out I was being cheated on. Then I could finally see their perspective, but still prefer to look at relatoinships as 'mutual' rather than 'i'll do this if you do that'.

So, in light of that, I still have the hangup that sex is something shared between two people that feel something (even if that something is just a short time together), so I don't think I would ever pay for 'just sex'.

When I was single I was thinking of paying for sex, because it would help me get laid quicker. But then I stopped because I knew that I should save sex until I found someone.

it would depend on how much i desired the other guy. there is truth in what has been said previous about the costs of dating. perhaps nothing ever is free

Never paid myself, but a guy once offered to pay me (I turned him down). I've heard of others doing it and heard the reasoning behind it. Typically, guys who pay would rather get exactly what they want without having to spend a lot of time finding it. With a prostitute, they also don't have to worry as much about emotional entanglements or privacy (which is why so many politicians and business men go to them).

While I firmly believe that pretty much anybody can get laid, some guys have standards way above what they can actually get on a regular basis without paying.

I would not pay for sex, because I still can get loads of it for free.

I would have absolutely no problem paying for it either, if I were not getting it for free or if I wanted to shorcut the cruising, dating, FB, BF or whatever path. You save on side and spend on the other.

I agree with the previous posters, who basically said, they have been 'indirectly paying for sex' by buying dinners, drinks, clothes, paying for trips and vacations or whatever. I have been doing the same over quite some time now, too. Yet, somehow, I never felt that I was paying for sex per sei.

If I met up with a dude and was getting romantically involved, I wanted to spend time with him and have my fun with him not just in my bedroom but outside of it as well. Life has been very kind to me, and I do not sweat the small stuff, so I have never really wanted a college kid, I was dating to share the cost of a Carmel/Napa/Paris/ or Madrid weekend with me. Yeah, the kid got a free ride and good fun was had by all... not a biggie in any sense.

At times, we would go shopping and the guy, I would be dating would get a bagfull of clothes and couple of pairs of shoes, if he wanted them or needed anything. That certainly did not burn a hole in my pocket either...

This was all because they practically lived with me and we were sharing our lives together at that time and not just because they were kinda 'putting out' for me...

Ok you might not say here is $20 and for this $20 lets hookup. However, you may take your 20 and treat him to dinner and a movie, thinking think you will get lucky later.

Gay men use money to get what they want. A man doesnt pay for dinner or buy you nice things for nothing. He does all this to make you feel obligated to have sex. The sex is not a guarantee once you spend money but it does make your chances a lot better.

So every man pays for sex some way or another.

Its just like a a club and a guy buys you a drink and expects he is yours for the night just because of one drink and it wasnt even top shelf LOL.

On some gay hookup sites you have some men that make it clear in their profiles that they come at a price. If its a free hook up site i used to wonder who on earth would actually pay for it when you can just go the next profile and get it for free.

But then i saw some pictures of the men who charge and then i kinda understood. Some of those men are "straight" but even beyond that are ridiculously sexy. And if i looked like that there is no way i would just give all of that away for free especially in the gay world. So now i have a better understanding of men who charge.

Some men are not self confident and may feel that they are unattractive. So they use money to make them look like a GQ model.

Money makes people do some crazy things. Desperate times...

I admit I paid for it. Came to terms with the fact I liked boys, wanted to try it, not looking for a relationship and wanted it to be safe. Living in London there is a lot of choice so met an Australian escort. Saw him several times and as well as the sex he was great to talk to about gay stuff (not out to my mates & not the type of thing I could just drop into a conversation). Anyway haven't seen him for a couple of years as he quit escorting but, funny story, went to see Harry Potter with a friend last night and he ended up sitting next to me. We didn't acknowledge each other which was sad.

I suspect that any decent escort would actually do just that in public. Part of what you're paying for is confidentiality. If you had started a conversation with him, he probably would have had a nice casual conversation with you. However, he probably wouldn't start talking to you, not knowing how the people you were with might react.

When i was 19, I paid to recieve a blow job at a chinese massage parlor. Even though the blower was very attractive(asian lady mid-late 20's), there was definitely something missing in the exchange as opposed to a mutual, free, sharing of intimacy. It was more like a simple buisness transaction#-o, probably based on the underlying aspect that this person is fulfilling an obligation as opposed to a desire.

I very much agree with wooster. The one time I paid for sex it felt like that -- not comfortable, no involvement, forced ... But my escourt was inexperienced and it was his first time, so some things may be due to that inexperience. Had it been an experienced escourt perhaps he'd make me more at ease ... Still I'd imagine that that feeling of intimacy wouldn't quite be there.

Unfortunately, some of us HAVE to pay.

do you mean those who can't find a partner to play with with ease ?

I think about paying.
But I need my money for other "things", and I'm afraid to get all emotional, since it'd be my first time. Don't wanna waste my first time on a rent boy who wouldn't share the feelings.

I honestly can't understand why a gay man would pay for sex. Straight guy maybe. There's always another horny guy out there willing to do you for free. Maybe he's not the hottest guy ever, but "beggers can't be choosers". A few days ago I was horny and posted an ad on craigslist, the next day I got an AMAZING blow job from a hot young twink. All I had to do was pick him up. Didn't even have to buy dinner. And I don't consider myself hot at all. And he wants to do it again! ..|

I don't need to but I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
