I also liked the old format, but then I don't like change.
One problem with the new format is that many cams still do not have pictures on the main page. Also, like others here, I have noticed that many familiar names seem to be missing, although there are still plenty of hot straight guys.
As for being banned by straight cammers, there are a couple of ways to minimize that sad event. For one, read the profile! If the guy says he's straight, don't ask if he's gay/bi. For two, watch the chat for a while before jumping in. If he's really touchy, it will show up quickly in his comments. In that case, either leave or don't say anything. It's his cam; he calls the shots. The straight guys run the gamut from those who are totally open and willing to chat (even about sex) with gay viewers to those who will ban anybody with a male name. There's no way to be sure without watching first. Of course, if the chat is quiet, you don't have anything to go on. In that case, you could greet him non-sexually and test the reaction. If he says "NO MALES!" or "GOODBYE!," it's best to take the hint.
Not to sound corny, but I'm grateful to the men who put themselves out there on the net for me to watch and doubly so to the straight guys who are tolerant about other men watching them. It pisses me off when viewers get angry at the cammer and act all entitled like he owes them something ... not than anyone at JUB would ever behave that way.

The best time to watch? The favorite time to be on cam seems to be midnight plus or minus, local time. It follows that the cams are busiest in the early evening East Coast US time (that is, GMT-4 or -5). At that hour, say 7 p.m. ET, the Europeans will be out in full flood, and there are a lot of them. However if you want to chat in English, around 11 ET is best, I think, since you'll have the full range of North Americans. There will still be some hardy fellows from the UK on line as well. As a bonus, at that time of night you'll get lots of amazingly hot South Americans, too. I've never been to Argentina, but, based on evidence at cam4, the men there must be the handsomest in the world.
