Bryan Singer Back To X-Men
Signs to handle the First Class

When Empire sat down with X-franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently, she revealed that young mutant pic X-Men: First Class was bubbling along nicely, with a script by The OC/Chuck creatorJosh Schwartz. Now it would appear that it also has a director, in the form of Bryan Singer.

Given his long history with the X-Men movies, Singer has been mooted as the likely First Class directing choice for a while now, but he confirmed that he was all set for the film at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar.

I may or may not have peed myself a little just now. And it may or may not have had to do with this.!oops!

First class is a crappy idea but with Singer on it it'll hopefully turn out better than last stand.

i agree but hopefully he will not made the girls of xmen so damn weak like he did in the first two movies

I hope not too. Why are they signing him to direct this, i mean he has already fucked up the first three movies.

I thought he was busy making the new superman flick. Yeah I agree he did fuck up the first Xmen movie

I liked the first two. The third looked promising but it's message of "gay people can be cured but they're all just terrorists who kill the people trying to save them" was a bit confusing. When I'm actually rooting against Wolverine by the end of a movie, it's time to stick a fork in it.

Are you kidding me? The first two X-Men movies were the only two worth making, and both were directed by Bryan. I'm glad he's back, especially if Ms. Emma Frost will be one of the main characters for First Class, which I remember reading somewhere that she was.

I just hope the actors aren't terrible. I'm not hyped to see someone like zach efron in this movie.

 Hmmmm They don't seem to that many to choose from. Flipping to the CW for some choices. But if I had to choose maybe Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki, Scout Taylor-Compton. But nobody associated with that Twilight crap.

I want all unknowns except for Prof. X

Just by reading the comments above it's obvious nothing anyone does with these movies will make anyone happy. Such complainers. The movies were all good entertainment. I collected the X-men comic for a good 10 years and even I am not a purist about the movies. I have no complaints except to say you should all stay home when the next one comes out.

I didn't complain.

But I will now. I doubt it can get any worse than The Last Stand.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a prequel or is it on it’s own?

I'm a huge Xmen fan so I liked all three. However, the third was fucked up by Ratner.

I'm not looking forward to this film b/c the concept seems a little ridiculous and the casting will probably suck... they had the perfect casting for the first two Xmen(besides Halle Berry) and the third movie killed any chance for future ones. Not to mention the Wolverine Origins movie was a HUGE disappointment.

Hopefully they get back on the right track

What I want to know is for “original” movies there is not much originality any more. For movies that have a previous source like Wolverine they change everything. Why is that for almost all Hollywood movies?

it'd be awesome if they expanded emma frost's character. i mean she was already introduced in the wolverine origins movie displaying only her weak ass diamond form. she doesn't have just that power, she's also supposed to be one of the most powerful psychics in existence.
maybe they could play with her hellions storyline. just sayin'
