Xbox 360 Repairs Will Cost Microsoft $1B

Sorry Noelie, but what does this have to do with the xBox bulletin?
But if I can hijack my own thread, I agree with you on the round mouse. It was so confusing, I turned it over to see if it had a Microsoft® on it. It is a pity the Newton died when Jobs returned. It did a superb job of handwriting recognition. No need to learn a new alphabet that had to be printed. There was a store in Toronto that sold nothing but Newtons. Very popular here. Apple never intended to release its own Pippin. Instead it intended to license the technology to third parties. I guess opendoc got stomped out by MS.
Integrated into the Java class library, OpenDoc would allow developers to create applets that:
* integrate easily and seamlessly with other applets
* can be interchanged with other applets
* create and edit data in compound documents

OpenDoc applet users would be able to:
* use a collection of applets to create a compound document
* edit any compound document on any Java-enabled platform
* send and retrieve compound documents via the Internet
* transparently obtain any applets required for a particular document via the Internet.
I wonder if Apple ever got anything wrong?

Oh yeah:

Apple Pippin
Apple opendoc file format
Mac TV
The Puck mouse
The Newton

to name but a few

Sorry sheep but I'm in the mood :)

So am I[-X

I like my GameCube.

Apparently, Microsoft didn't do enough reliability testing.

Hmmmmmm.......sounds like a typical Microsoft thing. I wonder what other Microsoft product crashes a lot......Hmmmmmmmm....

No problem for Microsoft.

They'll just raise the price of a Vista Home Premium license to $2.5 million.

I haven't had any problems with mine, yet, but it is nice to know they have extended the warrenty by another year!

this is excellent news one of the reasons i was holding off buying one is due to some of the problems but 3 years warranty i won't have to worry about it until about the same time as the new XBox

if only other companys yes i am looking at you Sony would follow suit

It makes you glad you have a playstation 3 because Microsoft extended their warrenty to 3 years? Wich is more then sony/nintendo/apple ever offer and this is a bad thing? Microsoft realized the had an issue, and are going to make it right. This is a good thing.

lol MS cant even get computer software right, what business do they have making video games

I have a 360 and I'm enlightened that my warranty is now extended to 3 years, I feel good now seeing as how I skipped out on an extended warranty from the store I bought it from. When I got my 360, I didn't know about the 3 lights of death and all of it's problems. Mine still works fine, but I've had it for only 5-6 months I think.

I've had the 3 red light problem about 5 or six times now in the last 2 weeks. I just called Microsoft. I was reluctant because I don't have my original purchase recepit but they didn't even ask for it. They are sending me kit to send it in for repair.

Even though the 3 red lights don't show up consistently and my console is not completely dead I am not taking any chances. Since it's free I figure what the hell I may as well go ahead and get it done anyway and just not worry about it.

If anyone needs to call the number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX
