Contributors galleries have all been replaced with series of pics promoting porno videos.

And as I have also noted, there are still the galleries where individuals post their own pics.

I imagine it was a copyright thing.

I really hope that xHamster doesn't go the way that Pornhub went. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT want to see illegal/underage videos being distributed in any way. There has to be a way where they can protect against underage videos without getting rid of all non-professional porn content...
 
I have way too many XHamster bookmarks that I still need to sort through, half of them say the video was deleted. But that was when all that Pornhub thing happened, XHamster wanted to be on the safe side too. So it doesn't surprise me that images are disappearing now too.
 
It's no particular loss. I view moving pictures rather than stills and, as Cormac says, there are plenty of alternative sites if stills are your thing.
