Nepal has become the first south asian country to recognize same sex marriage after a Supreme Court ruling.

Way to go.

The question is whether other asian countries will follow....

A Japanese court on Thursday said a ban on same-sex marriage was constitutional but it raised concerns about the dignity and human rights of same-sex couples, a ruling short of activists' expectations but still seen as a step forward.

Somewhat disappointing...I am not really seeing it as a step forward...but Japan is an amazingly conservative country for all its pretension to being forward thinking. I suspect we'll see a big shift with demographics there soon as well though.
