Unfortunately, I was not alive during the time of the notoriously nude swimming at the YMCA. However, in addition to lockerroom and steamroom play, it remains one of my greatest fantasies. For those who were lucky enough to experience this--though I understand it could also bring some trauma--I have a couple of questions.

First, were these pools outside? Growing up in western Tennessee, all the Y's that I can think of had outdoor pools. And yet, believe it or not, there's very little outdoor nudity in TN. (To be honest, I don't think there's much indoor nudity either.)

Second, and more importantly, were the lifeguards nekkid as well? I mean, if the logic of the nudity policy was that the filters couldn't handle clothing fibers, it would seem that a lifeguard wouldn't be able to wear a suit if he was to jump in at a moment's notice. And if there's one thing hotter than a lifeguard sitting on his big chair, greased up and wearing sunglasses, it's the same lifeguard without any trunks sitting with his cock at eye level.

You know why they had to swim naked, don't you? Back then the filters were too primitive to handle and threads from fabric. I don't know about the lifegaurds, though.

They had naked swimming at the Y I used when I was younger. There were no lifeguards, and the pool was a regular sized indoor pool in the basement. There really wasn't any trauma involved, it was fun. I still enjoy skinny dipping when ever I get the chance.

That must have been in the good ole days when the YMCA admitted only men.

I remember those days as the showers was the first place I got to view cocks.

Uhm...I don't think they had life gaurds...or even if the pool was "deep" enough to merit it.

What?????

YMCA pools are (and were) usually quite deep to accomodate diving, etc. Women swam in the Y pools on "off days" (males and male nudity not permitted on "off days") and wore bathing suits. Men swimming nude at the Y had nothing to do with the filter systems. It was just a given that males did not mind swimming in the nude. It was also good hygiene not to wear swimwear in the pool (bacteria on fabric).

Perhaps we should selectively re-institute this (meaning it's usually the ones who should keep their clothes on who take them off first).

Yes, nude swimming is a great fantasy. I've never done it, but I will never forget the dressing room in our municipal pool. It was the first time I had seen boys with bushes. I was overwhelmed.

ok..Yea I can actually contribute...In Vancouver Canada I once went as a tourist & they had male hours and female hours. So I went thry to this "inner sanctuary" and all the guys were naked. Wow was I embarassed. I thought that it was some mistake. There was a lifeguard and he told me to go back and take it off & then come back. I was 26 so it was instant bonner. All the guys in the pool were hard & hot. I was too flustered to notice the guard ( whether he was or not). Guys brushed and oggled each other. But the action was in the sauna afterwards. Hot heavy sex and it was like walking into heaven/hell ...lol...anyway it was one of my first experiences at Grp. of course will remain burned into my memory for eternity.
Hope that helps you fantasies.

I always thought the pool filter thing was a lame excuse. Seems more logical that there was just a different attitude toward nudity in sex segregated situations. Also I think there may be some truth to the fact that many decades ago not everyone even owned a swimsuit nor was able to buy one.
Boys grew up viewing skinny dipping as normal. Suits were optional at many schools during PE swimming. And there certainly wasn't any issue with nude showering in gym class like so many boys have issue with today.

I hope this doesn't shatter anybody's fantasies, but I remember the nude swimming and big communal showers at the Y as being rather "wholesome" and "family oriented" (male family members of course). A lot of Dads came to the Y to swim with their sons, and sometimes even grandsons.

Maybe so, HM....

But however you slice it... That was a LOT of balls floating around !!

I can't even imagine it.

It saddens me that I missed out on those days.
