But, didn't we switch states moving to L'Anse? I thought we were talking about WI? L'Anse is MI UP - at least the one I'm thinking of is. Come to think of it, so is Sault Ste. Marie -- what is this, squatter's rights? The UP is disjoint from the thumb, you can't get to MI from MI w/out going thru another state our country?, so you're just annexing them? I guess that's a good thing. It's nice to be wanted.

Yes, I kind of hijacked the thing. But Yoopers tend to think more like Wisconsinites than Michiganders. Most every Yooper I know is of the 'Let's Blow up the Bridge' mentality.

Yoopers also tend to think of Green Bay as the Capital. A trip to the big city is usually 'We Go Green Bay and sneak into Milwaukee sometimes.'

I went to a Friday night fish fry at a supper club while I was there - my then-bf (from IL) had a brandy drink, claiming it's a WI thing.

I'd read about kringles in a gay murder mystery series set in Wisconsin, but only tried one recently - at a Danish bakery here in Seattle; it was quite tasty!

Yes! Brandy IS a "WI thing"! We drink more of it than any other state in the Union! And ... Friday Fish Fries are practically Mandatory!

And, kringles ... Just one of the many delicious things that all of the nationalities who have settled here have brought with them!
