I have been watching Young and Restless since the beginging. This past week has been just the best it has ever been, with the "death" of Katherine Chancelor, Nikki and Jill were amazing and even Chole who I dont like had me in tears. This is the whole reason why that soap has been number 1 for 12 years straight!!!!!
Thank you YnR

Whoa, whoa, whoa...what's all this about Victor and Ashley? They're together?! I've missed a lot of Y & R over the past couple of months, so I don't know exactly what's going on. What do y'all mean when you say the Katherine's "dead"?

I have been watching this show since 1987 and I have to say the writing has been wonderful over the past few months. I especially enjoy the fact that the current writers are making a serious effort to try and reference past storylines in the current ones and not try to overlook or re-write what has happened before.

Many may complain but I love the show and I am more than satisfied with the current direction. I love most if not all the major storylines. This is in my opinion one of the best dramas on television: daytime or prime time. Great stories, great production, and unbelievable acting.

I was at first skeptical about the return of Marge but now I see the brilliance of what was trying to be accomplished and cannot wait for what is to come.

Also, I never liked how Phyllis stole Nick from Sharon in his time of darkness after the loss of Cassie. It is kind of cool to see her experience some retribution - even though things are really not as bad as she thinks they are. The question is - will we see "pshycho Phyllis" return to doing crazy stuff she was doing back in the days when she was running people over with cars?

Something tells me even better times are ahead. Happy viewing all you fans!!!

The Young & The Restless have always had the best production values out of any other show in daytime. There's something about it that's just so rich. From the lighting to the set decoration to the camera work to the wardrobe and hair... everything is top notch. The visual appeal is top of the line.

I'm thanking God for Hogan Sheffer's arrival as co-headwriter. He's doing the same thing for Y&R that he did for my favorite soap, Days. He's completely revitalizing it and making the show a serious soap to be reckoned with, yet again. He's helping to take Y&R and bring it back to it's former glory. I'm thrilled!

As for the Phyllis/Nick/Sharon story, I'm really thrilled for this. I've been waiting for the destruction of Nick and Phyllis since pretty much the beginning. I mean, don't get me wrong... I thought their affair was hot, even though I wanted to bitchslap them both through the entire thing. Once they become a married couple though, they became insta-boring. Phyllis lost her fire and turned into just another housewife. I hated it! With her witnessing the kiss, it feels like we're really on the cusp of the real Phyllis re-emerging and I'm more excited for that than anything. I'm also excited about Phyllis feeling some of the pain that she caused Sharon back when the affair was in full swing. I've been waiting for it. All the Jennifer Anistons of the world must be loving this.

Can't wait for Nina's return!

I agree 1000% with everything you said in this post... Can't wait to see how everything plays out....

I thought it was just me - it's nice to meet someone on here that also appreciates the remarkable work that's currently being done on that show....

Nina - I am so looking forward to seeing her again (do you remember the David Kimball storyline? - that was classic Y&R) - it's been years since she left - and she was one of my faves when she was on.... It will definitely be good to see her again....

Can't wait!!!!

I was never a big Nick/Sharon fan. I like them better as just friends.
However I really wish Nikki would just get over Victor and let her and Paul get back together. Paul has always been there for her.

Katherine's service was great! To be able to see all those familure faces again, Nina looked just the same. I loved it when Marge's ghost was figuring out that she was at katherine's service and not hers.

But when Nikki had lost it at the service I had lost it at the same time. I think she is my favorite on the show.

I totally agree with you - the last week's worth of episodes have been nothing short of spectacular - classic Y & R.

I keep loving how the current writers keep injecting shots of Y & R history into the current storyline - makes it ever so more realistic - case in point Lauren's apology to Tracy on Tuesday's US show for treating her O so horribly all those years ago.

Let's hope they can keep the quality this high on a consistent basis....

I was crying during Katherine's funeral service (yes, I'm aware she's alive, but it was very touching). I'm a little creeped out by the Noah/Eden storyline. The fact that Eden's actress (forget her name) is only like 16 and the actor playing Noah is 21 (or somewhere in his 20's IIRC), it weirds me out a bit. But oh well, just a minor blip in the great Y&R (which I only started watching about a few months ago).

And just when I thought it could get no better. I love it when Nick decked Adam I was so waiting for that to happen for a while. Adam and Heather just plain get on my last nerves

Oh well then you should have really seen the show when the actress that last played Coleen was involved with JT. The actress playing her was only like 14 and JT was in his mid 20's

O_O Oh no no no...

I understand it's acting, but I feel for the adult that has to lock lips and such with a minor. It's gotta feel awkward, at least at first.

It feels so good to have Victor and Ashley back!!

That was so classic when Ashley walked into the service and sat right next to Victor! The look on Jacks face was just to die for. Cant wait for Victor to get the charges dropped against him and squash his son Adam!!!!!!

Well its about dang time!!!! Nikki finally had enough of Victors accusing her of things that she really told him off. I for one am glad of that, I never liked Victor Newman he was always walkin all over Nikki. Plus who can forget that he caused her to loose the baby she was having with Jack years ago..........Go Nikki!!!!!!

Decided to bring this dead topic back up, instead of making my own.

Anyone enjoying the show right now?

I am frustrated by most of the storylines going on. They could have wrapped them up nicely, instead of causing them to drag on further. The Katherine storyline is one example. I mean really? Going from one case of partial amnesia to another, just as she was going to get her life back? I figured the explosion would have corrected her memory, but nope. I understand they're probably trying to create a s/l for Kevin and Michael, but give the lady her life back already. I wanna see Jill and her lapdog son what's coming to them when she comes back.

Also. Lily and Cane? I practically got whiplash from the speed they went from separated to engaged. I know Cane wants Delia, and believes that marrying will make him look better, but Lily should not be so quick to agree.

Last but not least. The rest of the Winters family. Who gives a shit? I may have only started watching since the latter half of last year, so I may not have seen their interesting times, but they are my reason for using the FastForward button. Is there really any need for them, other than being there for the minority card.

I feel that the Katherine storyline is pretty solid. It's nice to see Kevin getting involved in a major storyline. I feel that he is a great actor. Although, I find it kind of funny that all of the older characters, the ones who have known Katherine for years and years really don't believe it's her. But the younger ones who have known her for a year or two really believe that this is real Katherine.

I have never really liked Cane and have general distaste for the Abbott family. It was fate that Cane and Lily would get back together.

I just saw a fight today between Neil and Karen, and then between Karen and Tyra which I thought was really well done. I haven't really followed with this storyline but I hope it becomes major instead of just being in the background.

how did i miss this thread?
i started watching the day B&B started.no longer watch B&B, but i do agree, that show is thee best now that they brought back some vetren writers. love all the young guys too...hot...hot...hot

But do you think he'll really leave Ashley after they have had now TWO kids together.

I watch this with my mother sometimes, and I agree that it rocks. It's always entertaining.
