you don't have to be anything but yourself andy ! Though the media and the psycho gay world will make you think that you have to be one way or another, you don't. Be yourself, anything else would be unfulfilling. Trying to be the way that you perceive others want you to be is just a waste of energy. In the real world, people have many different 'types', not just smooth twinks. There is room for all different types, that what makes the world interesting. Much of the gay world has become boring because many people are starting to look the same, kinda like women in california and their barbie look. Anyhow, don't let anyone's weird ideas about body image get you down. Just be you !

Hairy is hot!

As was said ^^^, do what you want with your hair, but do it for YOU. If it's the amount of hair that bothers you, you can use a trimmer with a shield (like a barber would use) to "keep it under control."

My advice would be not to shave it, though. I have moderate chest hair and a lot of belly hair. Once, a long time ago, I had a routine physical and they did an EKG. Before I knew it, the nurse shaved these haphazard spots on me to place the leads. Needless to say, it looked pretty funny. So, like the brilliant guy I thought I was, I decided to shave the rest off - both to see what it would be like and to maybe let it grow back in evenly. Hooooly Crap!!! It itched like a mother for DAYS! People probably thought I had fleas because I was digging at it so much.
 
I also stated getting a lot of hair in my torso when I was about 14. Which was strange because I never met anybody as young as me who was as hairy. It bothered me then, but now, at age 23 I'm ok with it.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Can't believe how long ago I posted this, considering I'm almost twenty now. Time flies, amirite?

Currently concerning my body hair, I'm very okay with it. I'm much more comfortable being shirtless around people, I can walk down my hall to the shower in just a towel, and not worried about confronting other people in my dorm.

Haven't really had any exprience where guys have found it a turn on. That is mostly due to the lack of gay males on my campus that I'm interested in dating.

Anyway.. This thread really helped me to gain some confidence, so I thank all of you for that and I hope that other people find the same things from this thread that I did.
 
Ohhh and before I forget. Concerning stretch marks.

I have them from losing a lot of weight very fast, however they're not entirely easy to see and a majority are covered up by my body hair anyway. Sure they'd be nice to not have, but they aren't so horrible to have cosmetic surgery and get rid of them (at the moment anyway).

yeah im young and bit a hairy as well and im a bit self conscious about it as well. Even considered laser hair removal but i dont have $4k for the treatment.

Well maybe if you get more people complimenting you on the hair then you might start to like it. Same way I felt about my weight, but then I got enough compliments for me to feel good about being who I am not what I look like.
