I can't help loving B&B, because of Brooke's bedding every in-law there is and because of the dynamo that is Susan Flannery. Y&R, on the other hand , is HORRIBLE. The new head writer has taken this once-great show and destroyed it.

I find that I got a love/hate relationship with B&B. It's such a fuckin gothic fairytale cartoon, I can't get past the initial campiness it has. I'm usually pretty happy with campiness, but B&B is just a little TOO goofy. It's like a relaxed satire of soap operas, really.

Y&R on the otherhand, is the best soap out there, IMO. It's definatly not as good as it used to be, but it's still Shakesphere compared to anything else on daytime tv. The acting is generally much better as well- the characters are more dynamic.

TV programmers are weird. "The Bold & The Beautiful" has been the No. 2 rated daytime soap opera for the past 14 years but Oklahoma puts it on at 3 am (probably why I am not a fan).

I began watching "The Young & The Restless" way back in 1981 when I was only 10-years-old.

My fave Y&R characters over the past 26 years have been Nikki, Victoria and Neil. I used to work with Nick (Josh Morrow's) uncle and know his family personally so I gotta put him in there too although I see NO chemistry with Nick and Phyllis.

Michelle Stafford is a great actress but completely unrecognizable from her bitchdom days in the mid-1990's.

Is she? I havn't seen much B&B lately, but I kindof like Pam. I saw it the other day though and I'm a little pissed that Storm was the shooter! I want William to stay on the show, I don't want this plotline to be his swan song, he's so hot. I like Patrick Duffy on the show, Stephen is a badass.

I gotta ask, wth is goin on on Y&R lately? It's boring as hell! I've never been this bored with the show before, what's goin on over there? Victor vs. Nikki- which is cool, but besides that what else is goin on? Jack's sortof on a downward spiral, he and Sharon are probably gonna split, but besides that everything else is a little rubbish right now. However, I am lookin foward to seein more Gloria and Jeff, he's such a pimp, I like em.

Yeah, they made Pam out to be really crazy for a while--to convince us she may be the shooter. But she got her ass on a plane and went back home. Apparently she didn't take her meds.

I was disappointed with Storm being the shooter to. I mean, I didn't expect it, but it also seems far fetched. I would've rather it been Nick or something.

And as for Y&R, yeah it's been quite boring lately. Why are they dragging everything out so damn long? It's been what, MONTHS since Ji Min was killed and we still don't know who the fucking killer is. What the fuck?

I agree on your comments about both shows.

First, B&B, has really lost alot of its bite. I think the pairing of Eric and Donna is bad. Storm framing his father for the shooting is kinda unbelieveable. I've wtahced this show since the beginning and it's just not really good and hasn't been for a few years.

As for Y&R, this is the gem in my soap opera crown. I live this show. Sadly, right now, I just don't know what to say. They have always done poor jobs when writing murder mysteries for the show. I think the did an equally poor job with writing the Carmen murder. I'm very disappointed in the writing on the show and the sotrylines are not gripping or really dramatic. The present writing is flat and unconsistent. I really don't enjoy the show anymore.

I won't stop watching them, but I don't enjoy them like I did and I really understand why it's so hard for daytime TV to draw any viewership. If I'd never watched a daytime serial and happened to watch one for the first time this year, I'd never watch one again. It's us loyal fans keeping daytime alive.....that's all.

I love YnR. Been watching it since Paul was a teenager and got vd from Nikki.
I feel like I am the only one who is not wanting Victor and Nikki to reunite. I always liked Jack and Nikki, they were the best............

Yesterday's Christmas episode was pretty good, Christian Leblanc is so funny.

Tomorrow's 1993 episode is gonna be pretty cool, I can't even imagine what all was goin on back then, knowing Genoa city the way I do, I'm sure lots and lots of drama! Hee, old-timey style.
