I love the episode where Charlean's friend is getting abused by her husband and at the end leaves him.Also in that episode is Susanne and the rest of the girls doing the Supremes,with susanne in blackface singing "Ain't no mountain high enough" What a hoot!!!!

Mine was when Chalene withdrew her church membership because of their subjugation of women.
It included Bernice castigating the minister and Julias beautiful rendition of "How Great Thou Art".
The episode with Tony Goldwyn as an AIDS victim was touching and supportive.
The funniest though was when a tornado struck and the Sugarbakers were hosts to a group of weirdos.

The episode where Suzanne caught up with her accountant who had embezzled all her money and found out he had bought a circus so the two of them could ride in the coach together.

Any scene with Suzanne and her pig.

Any scene with crazy Bernice.

Any scene where Julia does one of those three minutes monologues telling someone off.

Any scene with Charlene talking about her life in Poplar Bluff.

And finally (for now): when Mary Jo was thinking about getting breasts implants.

I like the original cast of Designing Women. The new cast was horrible. I think that it was Charlene's cousin and Julia's cousin. It just wasn't the same without Suzanne and Annie Potts.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I worked as a Studio Page and was fortunate enough to be assinged to "Designing Women". A great cast and very friendly folks.

One of my all-time favorites is when the gals and Anthony go to New Orleans.

I love that one too! Bernice is hilarious and Susanne is waving around her pistol!

I have so many favorite episodes of this show. But off the top of my head I think the episode where Julia, Mary Jo, Suzanne, Charlene, Anthony, his Tina Turner girlfriend, Bernice and that old hillbilly hold up at Sugarbakers while Atlanta is under tornado warning.

I also love the episode where Suzanne buys a machine gun to guard her pig and all the girls and Anthony wind up in jail.

The New Orleans episode was hilarious.

There are many more but I can't think of any right now.

The trip to New Orleans was a riot - from Julia's remark about the next conference being held close to a Betty Ford clinic to Suzanne ripping off her wig, it was a laugh from beginning to end.

My favorite Julia tirade is when she confronts the current Miss Georgia World about Suzanne's title 15 years earlier ... "and that Marjorie, is the night the lights went out in Georgia" is a classic!!

I'd heard that they were finally going to release the series on DVD but have yet to see it - anyone have any news on that front??

I agree with all of those. I'd also add any scene with Bernice and Anthony in it.
