There are only 17 weeks left in the official Billboard chat year and there have already been 7 No. 2 singles this year. That is a lot.

Although, they are mostly crap. Which of the seven near-chart-champs were your favorites? I'm gonna have to vote for Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah" (which could knock Rihanna's stupid "Umbrella" out of No. 1 in just 48 hours!).

I think "hey there delilah" will take the no. 1 spot this week, even tho i really cant stand that song, rock is making a comeback this year, maroon 5's "makes me wonder" hit no. 1 for three unconsecutive weeks, it only was interuppted by
t-pains retarted ass "buy you a drank" for one week, GOd i hate that song!!!!
the last rock-ish song that hit no. 1 was "how u remind me" by Nickleback in 2001

I can't believe there has been that many #2 hits this year!! Downloads have really sped-up the turn-around of hits this year.

I also can't believe "Party Like A Rockstar" went to #2 for six weeks, while "Fergalicious" and "The Sweet Escape" only hit #2 for one week. It's obvious what was more popular lol.

My favorite is "The Sweet Escape", but I agree that "Hey There Delilah" is a beautiful song. I've only heard it a few times. Perhaps that will eventually be my favorite.

I left off their "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" which spent two weeks at No. 2 this past winter. So there have actually been eight No. 2 singles during the first half of the year.
