Zero Dark Thirty

I want to see it. But it seems to be taking for ever to get released nation wide. Critics reviewed it over a month ago. Today it got a limited release. Now it doesn't get released everywhere until sometime in January. Seems kind of stupid for me to keep seeing commercials for it on tv if I can't even see it. Most stupid movie release schedule ever.

Im really looking forward to this. Jessica Chastain has proven to be a really skilled actress.

I watched an ABC documentary on the making of this film, and they clearly had to embellish and exaggerate much of the story to make it work as a movie.

I know but they keep advertising it as if it was a real, play-by-play

unfortunatly any movie based of real life events has to be added to and 'hollywood' ized to make it interesting, im sure the actual raid and building up to it was boring because it took a lot of planning and stuff. this movie will be more stylized so the action flows. its just a part you have to accept i guess. i just want to see the interregation scenes and see what people are so up in arms about

Am I the only one who feels like they make movies about historical events way too soon?

I was really shocked when the first 9/11 movie came out (and another one followed shortly after).

Before they let the dust settle first but now it seems like the producers start preparing the project the day it happens.

As of this weekend showing in 60 screens across the US including two in South Florida. Might catch it before it hits wide-release next Friday.

Who's seen it?

I found ZD30 actually pretty boring, save the last 30 minutes which was effectively suspenseful. Whether much of the film was fact or fiction doesn't really matter, most of it just didn't make for interesting movie viewing. Spent too long on the first several years where not much happened other than the controversial torturing, and not long enough on the actual planning of the UBL raid before the end. I heard in reality alot of planning and rehearsal went into the mission, but showed none of it in the movie. Just like Bigelow's Hurt Locker, I found this movie surprisingly disjointed and overrated.

One supporting actress in it looks uncannily like a young Meryl Streep, don't know who she was.

I saw this with my mom. My dad would've been falling asleep within the first few minutes of this movie :p He'd wake during the raid.
Jessica Chastain was good, though.

Watching it again, I just can't deal
