Über gay Jeep ad

I guess he could be gay I don't know, I do not find anything screaming gay about him. As to your other points I do not know I have never worked on print adds I have worked on commercials and I know how very picky the corporate clients can be if that is what you are getting at.

On the corporate point, with the things going on in the US and the attitude towards gays, I think any corporate person would want to steer very far away from anything that is gay.

I could be wrong, but this is my opinion and I think you are really seeing something that is not there.

Um ... as a Jeep owner myself, all I can say is:

:D

Ha ha. Short of HotDog's first Jeep photo in this thread, I can't think of any way of making that model gayer than he already is. :)

But then maybe HotDog's photo (I think it was the first reply) really wasn't of gay men. Maybe they're straight men who just happen to like blue-and-black flags that just happen to be the same colors as the gay leather community's official flag. And those rainbows? Oh, they just happen to like pretty colors. What's so gay about that? Ha ha ha!

And that model in the actual ad? He just happens to look über gay. He just happens to have that nifty bracelet, and that neatly trimmed beard, and a beautiful white porcelain coffee cup, and a trim muscular body with a perfectly manicured beard. Silly me... it's all just a coincidence. :)

I just have to wonder how gay a guy has to look before some people pick up on it??

Awwww. (*8*) I'm just trying to open some eyes, that's all. Don't take it personally.

I'm not saying it's bad that he's gay looking. He just is. I look and sound gay, too. So what?

I think it's great that companies are viewing us as a target-able market.

I am not taking it personally, I just do not like being mocked or thought of as stupid or blind because I don't agree with you!! And I do not need my eyes opened thank-you very much! They were, like yours opened six years ago now and my vision is very clear.

You are assuming everyone in the gay community uses the same stereotypes as you. Obviously, they don't. I don't know what type of ads you are accustomed to viewing, but apparently all "straight" ones consist of ugly things and all "gay" ones consist of beautiful things.

^ Not so much "ugly" as "ordinary". And you're very close to the mark.

Only women and straight men drive Liberty's.

You want a Jeep, buy a real Jeep ;)

A real jeep hasn't been made since the last CJ rolled off the assembly line, and really I should strictly be talking about the CJ-5 however I will allow the 7 its demise of the line.
