Sooo, James Bond does have a price - $ 1 Billion.

Amazon acquired MGM for the 007 distribution rights, and now Amazon has full control of the Bond brand.

Given Amazon's media track record I have my doubts about the future of the 007 franchise.

I have to say, I never imagined a 21st century so full of mishandled entertainment properties. I can envision a disaster like "007: The Rings Of Power", or "James Bond and The Wheel of Time".

I can guarantee that Bezos will ruin the franchise.

He must get off on knowing however, that he could now be a Bond villain. Even if only a very dull and uninteresting one.

I don't get how James Bond has a connection to today's culture anymore. The character origins are 1950s post war Britain. Even young brits don't know that culture anymore, let alone amazon's market. Create a new character, let the original be what he was in Flemming's books.

Just think about the thousands of characters in literature, in addition to all the new characters created in the online world - Yes, let's get some new franchises started , and no more spy drama please!
