#1 Song when you were born

No, no, no, Rick. . . Sixteen Tons of COAL.
!oops! !oops! !oops!
But, I agree about Peter, Paul & Mary. Of course, now that song is stuck in my head. "All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go. . ."
I can sing and play it for you if you want! :)

BTW: I love the song reference in your signature, too!
Yea, I love Laura Nyro also. It comes from my Fifth Dimension craze. She writes so beautifully!

Get Off of My Cloud" by The Rolling Stones

I could live with that!!!

"Cathy's Clown" by The Everly Brothers

Not even all that fond of the Everly Bro's other than a few songs. Now what I would like to know is what was the number one song in Germany, since that is where I was born.

I see through your little ploy! You're trying to get me to admit my age!

Oh, wait, I already did.

<---------Right over there someplace.

It's kind of mind-blowing to be reminded of the wide spectrum of ages we are here at JUB... people who were born during the ascendancy of music that I danced to in high school, people who were born at a time when the music I always thought of as "oldies" was brand-new.

Oh, yeah, the topic... mine was the Beatles' "Hello Goodbye." Is it my imagination, or was the Magical Mystery Tour a waste of time?

My initial reaction. :? Abracadabra!? ...wtf LOL :lol2:

"Abracadabra" by Steve Miller Band. I guess I should give it a listen, I've never heard it before. Hope it's a love song

I LOVE STEVE MILLER BAND.

Mine was "Nothing's Going to Stop Us Now" by Starship, possibly one of the worst bands in the history of music. These are the people who sang "We Built This City (on Rock and Roll)" (which, by the way, was number two on Vh1's 40 Awesomely Bad Songs, second only to "The Final Countdown" by Europe).

April 1st, however, has had some important songs in history at number one. Included are:
  • Rock Me Amadeus by Falco
  • Billie Jean by Michael Jackson
  • I Love Rock 'n Roll by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
  • Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson
  • The Sign by Ace of Base
  • Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd
  • I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor
  • Stop! In the Name of Love by The Supremes
  • Can't Buy Me Love by The Beatles
  • Blue Moon by The Marcels

"Winchester Cathedral" by The New Vaudeville Band

I was thinking it was Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys(according to another site)

"All Night Long (All Night)" by Lionel Richie

"Sh-Boom" by The Crew-Cuts

Can you tell I was born in the '50's?

"You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi

Hmmm....never heard it before...

Reading the lyrics, I find myself disappointed.

I've already looked this up, and the song #1 on the day I was born was.

"Let's Hear It For The Boy"

I must've been fated for homodom.
