The year is almost over with few releases scheduled.

Which are your favorites of 2012?

Video: Filmography 2012 – 300 Movies that Released This Year Packed into One Clip

Genrocks is back with the official Filmography for 2012. Packing a stunning 300 movies that released in 2012 into a 7 minute clip, they once again did an excellent job picking some of the more iconic scenes from the chosen films.

See a full recap of 2012 Hollywood below.

probably my favorite film of the the year was moonrise kingdom.

i don't necessarily have a top ten but here's some other films i enjoyed immensely: Prometheus, frankenweenie, cabin in the woods, paranorman, the avengers, the dark knight rises, ted, wreck-it ralph, sinister. well i guess they are ten lmao, but they're not in any particular order.

i loved 'man on a ledge'....could be that i wanna ball worthington though(!)

Have to go with The Hobbit. I was expecting the worst amidst all the harsh reviews. It turns out I saw an entirely different movie than all those critics. To me it was every bit as good as Jackson's prior work with LotR.

Still have yet to see Zero Dark Thirty which is getting nothing but rave reviews. But now that I know I cannot rely on a consensus of critic's reviews, that doesn't really mean anything until I see for myself.

It has to be the Hobbit for me too, I've seen it twice already. The first time I saw it I was trying to find all the differences between the movie and the book but the second time I just enjoyed it for what it was and thought it was amazing!

Hobbit for sure! For animated film I would say Brave. I love the characters so much.

Prometheus 3D
Titanic 3D
Project X
Magic Mike
The Amazing Spiderman
Total Recall

There are many that are on my to-watch list just from this year -.-

I've only seen two from this year that I enjoyed.

Pitch Perfect could've been way better, but I found myself enjoying it. And I just saw Les Mis. I have to say I enjoyed it more than going to the show. I'm not saying the show was bad. I love shows because they're live. The movie just seemed to be more intimate. A bunch of times I actually found myself almost on the verge of crying.

Oh yeah..and I forgot about the Hungry Games. I liked it.

1. Cloud Atlas - so fucking infatuated and obsessed with this despite its flaws :luv:
2. Holy Motors
3. Moonrise Kingdom
4. Looper
5. Dark Knight Rises
6. Beasts of the Southern Wild
7. Upside Down
8. Rise of the Guardians
9. Perks of Being A Wallflower
10. Dredd

The one I haven't watched but are positively curious about:
-Argo
-Zero Dark Thirty
-Silver Linings Playbook

I only have a top 5, watched them all at a theatre:

Cabin in the woods
Django unchained
Skyfall
Dangerous liaison (chinese/korean remake)
Les miserables

My favorites were Ted and The Campaign, got a lot of good laughs from them. I enjoyed The Hunger Games too.

Roger Ebert's Top Movies of 2012

http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2012/12/eberts_top_movies_of_2012.html

1. Argo
2. Life of Pi
3. Lincoln
4. End of Watch
5. Arbitrage
6. Flight
7. The Sessions
8. Beasts of the Southern Wild
9. Oslo, August 31
10. A Simple Life

He also added ten Grand Jury Prizes, arranged alphabetically:

"Central Park Five," "Cloud Atlas," "Impossible,""In the Family," "Last Ride," "A Late Quartet," "The Master," "Paradise Lost 3," "Prometheus," "Rampart," "Searching for Sugar Man," "We Need to Talk About Kevin," and "West of Memphis."

I've not seen that many but the ones that stick out are:

The Avengers
Ted
The Campaign
Django Unchanined - which I went to see last night. Was funny and brutal...it was Tarantino. I would watch it again and Sam Jackson stole the show even though I enjoyed the whole cast.

My personal top 5

1.Paranorman
(Spoiler) Very happy to finally have the first out gay character in a major full feature animated movie. Really ground breaking. Thank you LAIKA. We can only hope studios like PIXAR would follow suit soon. (End of spoiler) As a big fan of their previous film Coraline, they did not disappoint this time either. Am not really a horror fan in general but still had a lot of fun watching it. Thinking about buying that book "The Art and Making of ParaNorman" as well. I hope this win best animated feature oscar.

2.Wreak It Ralph
Saw it FIVE times in theatre so far. That`s how much I love it. Orginally only went to show some support for Jane Lynch & Sarah Silverman. Ended up absolutely adored it. If Paranorman didn`t win the oscar this would be my second choice.

3.The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Not what I thought it would be. Only went because heard there was a major gay character and am somewhat found of Emma Watson. Ended up a fan of both Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller. Wow. If there`s any justice in the world they would become big stars soon. Also really nice to see a few TV actors I liked in it, like Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott & Nina Dobrev. Plus two former Scott Pilgrim actors as well.

4.Cloud Atlas
Having read the book I couldn`t imagine a movie version being done. To my surprise Tom Tykwer & The Wachowskis really delivered. They made some changes to the "gay" part of the story which I personally prefer to the book version. Really wished they had cast at least one asian male actor, but still, a very diverse cast with TWO asian actresses who are both very well known and respected in their own countries. Heard there was a longer cut and hopefully they will put more material in the DVD/Bluray.

5.Life of Pi
Crouching Tiger and Brokeback Mountain will always have a special place in my heart, but Life of Pi is simply Ang Lee`s best work. Truly a masterpiece in every way. I`ve seen it twice in theatre so far and looking forward to go back again soon. Will get this on Bluray as soon as it`s available. Looking forward to listen to Ang Lee`s commentary on it.
