From time to time, when I feel do it...

I prefer word searches though....

I used to do The New York Times crossword every day. In ink, naturally. And all of the Sunday crosswords (my favorite being Merle Reagle in the back of the magazine section).

Now I only do it occasionally, as I spend so much of my time on the internet and almost never open a newspaper; I've gotten kind of rusty, too, I can still get through a Monday or Tuesday puzzle (the NYT crossword gets harder as the week progresses) pretty easily but I frequently walk away from Friday and Saturday puzzles in frustration. And I never bother with Sunday puzzles anymore.

I kind of miss them. Maybe it's time to renew the habit.

Hmmmmmmmm,

OK, OK, I have to confess that I too am a bit of a dweb (spelling), I love crossword puzzles, especially the LA paper's!

NOW, if you are a truly, truly hard-nosed, crossword puzzler, you will use an ink pen to do the puzzle and NOT a pencil with an eraser!

So, do you or do you NOT erase, cross-out or do you use an ink pen to complete the puzzle?

Pride in "completely finishing" a crossword puzzle without cross-outs/erasures on it!!(*8*) (*8*)

I'd like to get more into crosswords. I used to do them with a friend of mine, but she moved away. I get a bit frustrated with them as I don't do them enough to know all of the tricks and techniques. Someday I will make a real effort and practice, practice, practice.

I do a sudoku, a crossword and another word puzzle (differs daily) in the newspaper every single day, except for Sundays.

I do the one in my daily paper Mon-Fri and the ones in the Boston papers on the weekends. I can usually finish the daily ones but the Sunday ones usually stump me if I cant figure out the "theme" for the longer clues or if they include a quote as clues. It is said that doing word and number puzzles keeps your brain active and can help to stop a person from developing diminished mental capabilities in your old age.

It's a rare occurence. I almost never think to give it a go and when I do, I tend to leave them unfinished.

My favorite is the Wall Street Journal one on Fridays. I can do the New York Times crossword Mon-Wed. and I'll try the Sunday one once in a while but I can rarely finish it.

I love crosswords, but recently my daughter has got me hooked on sudoku which I find fascinating.

i been wondering where arnell is for a while

I don't spell well enough to really enjoy the crosword puzzles

maybe i should play them more

they may help

I do the Toronto Star crossword every Monday through Saturday (though it is reprinted in my local newspaper). I also do the Sudoku puzzle, but they increase in difficulty each day, and the Friday/Saturday ones are usually too hard for me to finish. When I was in school, I would always do the Jumble, too. Occasionally, I'll do a word search, but I prefer a crossword puzzle anyday!
