18 Men arrested in Sex sting in Manhattan Beach

why do GAY MEN ACT LIKE THIS

Yes, because only gay men have sex in public areas.

I mean, have any of you BEEN to Mardi Gras before(the original in LA, I mean)?
Anyone hear of Freaknik, for my southern children here?
Daytona Beach? Hell, almost ANY beach during spring break?

But you're right. It's those damn gays always fucking it up for the well-to-dos.

UPDATE

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center has condemned the recent arrests of men in a public restroom on the public beach in Manhattan Beach (near LAX airport).

Apparently, one of the men who was arrested and whose photo was released to the public, attempted suicide (although this is unconfirmed).

The Gay & Lesbian Center spokesman says that the Manhattan Beach Police Department should have followed the Los Angeles Police Department's technique of public awareness against sex in public restrooms, as they did in a similar case of men seeking sex in Griffith Park -- instead of resorting to mass arrests.

However, other people aren't having it -- a reporter for a local newspaper in Manhattan Beach says that they print mugshots for ALL people arrested, and that not publishing the photos & names of the arrested who be "special treatment" for gay men.

The comments section has many responses from readers -- most supporting the Police Department's decision to arrest the men, and the media's decision to release the photos and names of the men to the public.

(Manhattan Beach is separate from L.A. and has it's own police dept)

I hope the media take note of the destruction and devastation they have caused to these mens lives. I hope the men are able to take action and sue. I don't know how the law works in terms of having the freedom to publish their information but i'm pretty sure it would never happen here.

I love all the self-righteous and judgemental comments on that news site. People need to hold a mirror to themselves and realise that they have probably done some questionable, risky and even immoral things in their lives. Buts its all too easy to point fingers and decide what 'sin' is worse than others.

Public lewdness, they shouldn't have released the photos, but hell, police still hate black people. Honestly I don't want to walk into a restroom and see a guy fucking a chick, so why would we have sex in public bathrooms?

As usual, the police are the problem.

Did the police really need to release mugshots? As someone else said, if they were straight guys, I'm sure they wouldn't. Now some of those poor guys have to deal with not only the charges they face, but also being outed in this way, and so publicly. You would think they were pedophiles or murderers or something. Geeez ....

Just as an aside, releasing mugshots of some gay guys caught having sex in a public toilet like that would never happen in New Zealand, I can tell you that much. They might be prosecuted, but not humiliated.

I'm not surprised. U.S. has always been uptight on sexual matters, and for all the forward-thinking and progressivism that our country claims to be on homosexual equality...this whole thing just reeks of finger pointing at gays.
