We are a year and a half from the 2012 presidential election: Nov. 6, 2012.

At this point, which of the following do you think will be the result?

Since the Republicans are likely to nominate an insane, loser, I'll pick President Obama to win.

Since Pawlenty flopped like a floundah, as we say, on the FOX debate, I am going to say that Obama will win.

However in 18 months, Megan McCain could announce, run, be revealed to be the second coming of christ, and win by a landslide tossing Obama out of office.

18 months is an eternity politically, and we have no way of knowing how Obamas victory will play out.

IF jobs continue to come back, and oil continues to drop, that with the fact that Osama was nabbed will roll him back into office.

As a Scot i have to say that out of your last five Presidents there has not
been one hint of extra-marital sex , no-one has threatned to impeach him.
There has not been one bit of dodgy news about him this side of the pond
but i think his MAIN task now is to see how he handles those back-stabbing
Leaders of Pakistan . Talking as a non-us citizen i think what he does next will be the making or breaking of him but so far i think personaly he is doing a great job.
For what that,s worth coming from someone who does not live in the USA .

A lot can happen in 18 months, so its too early to tell.

Right now, my money's on an easy retention for Obama if the economy continues to improve. As I said in another thread a while back, the man has my vote.

The result is likely an 85% chance that Obama will win with very little effort, as the Republicans have nobody that can beat him.

A more interesting poll would be who each of us think will take the House and Senate.

I saw today that Democratic Congressman Donnelly of Indiana is running for Richard Lugar's Senate seat, expecting Lugar to lose the primary to a right wing Tea Party candidate. Olympia Snowe of Maine faces the same problem. Since these are two moderate Republicans, if they lose to Tea Party wackos, the Dems will likely pick up those seats that would otherwise be safely Republican. In that scenario, little chance of the Republicans taking the Senate.

The US economy is in shambles.

Not much hope to find a job if you are not employed. Most employees have not see a pay increase in the last several years.

Unemployment up again at 9%. Real unemployment somewhere between 17 to 20%.

Yeah, it's all good. He's doing a bang-up job.

Gotta love all the parties at the White House.

You know Springer, you're right.

Let's put Bush and Cheney back in office and continue on with their stellar policies. They did a fucking-fantastic job in those 8 years in office. Those Republicans have all the answers.

Slash funding for public programs. Those worthless poor, disabled, elderly and children are nothing more than parasites.

Slash taxes for the rich. If billionaires don't pay income tax they'll create millions of high paying jobs for Americans. Yeah!

Bush and Cheney and the Republicans will keep us safe from terrorists and reduce government. No more bloated government programs!

Damn, the Bush/Cheney years were paradise! If we only elected McCain and Palin and not the Kenyan born Muslim Barack HUSSEIN Osama (oops I mean Obama) the American economy would be fucking zooming!
