It's the Victoria Day weekend. Victoria Day is on Monday. (Technically next Saturday, but it's celebrated on the Monday before the 25th.)

Remembrance Day is on November 11, the day the Armistice was signed.
 
OK. I thought your Remembrance Day mirrored our Veteran's Day.

The specifics of the holiday mirror our Memorial Day more, though.
 
I'm not sure what you mean. Victoria Day is a celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday. Remembrance Day (formerly called 'Armistice Day' to old fogies like me who remember that long ago) is a remembrance of all Canadian soldiers who have died in any war since WWI.
 
Our Memorial Day is in remembrance of all the fallen soldiers since the Civil War - roughly equates to your Armistice Day.

We celebrate Veteran's Day in November for ALL former and current members of the Armed Services - living and dead.
Timing is about the same as your Remembrance Day.

I met a kid working at a store recently whose grandparents came from Croatia. I told him about this duo, but haven't bumped into him since. I hope he checks them out -- he didn't think anyone famous came from there!
