2008 Emmy predictions.

Im glad actual comedic performances won this year.

Its not fair for actual comedies to have to compete with one hour dramadies as drama trumps comedy 9/10 times.


Dramadies need their own category.


Spader actually deserved it this year unlike last year; but it was nice to see Cranston win.

I'm glad the Emmys got it exactly right this year on the Drama side with the brilliant Mad Men for Drama Series, the delicious Close for Actress, and the great character-actor Ivanek for Supporting Actor. (what a wonderful surprise!) I'm also glad the Emmys got over their hardon for James Spader's scenery-chewing in the godawful Boston Legal (one of the absolute worst shows on TV) and even though I didn't care much for anyone in Supporting Actress, I'm just glad no one from Grey's Anatomy won.

The Comedy side was good too -- 30 Rock is a great, deserving Comedy -- and I adore Tina Fey, but why oh why is there still no love for Mary Louise Parker, who is easily one of our greatest actresses and continues to deliver a beautiful nuanced portrayal of an emotional frayed, misguided, complex woman week after week on what is hands down the best comedy on TV? I don't mind her losing to Tina Fey this year, but there's no excuse for her losing last year to America Fererra and before that (even worse!) Julia Louis Dreyfus.

i haven't watched "Weeds" since season 1...only cuz i don't wanna pay for Showtme. still, i think Mary Louise Parker is one of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood.
 
We definalty need Mary Louise Parker to be recognized next year. Maybe start up a petition?

And you don't need to pay, Weeds is on Showcase(either Sundays or Wednesdays et)

PERHAPS YOU SHOULD WATCH JOHN ADAMS.
 
Would have been nice to see David Simon pick up the Best Writing Emmy for his series finale for The Wire - the best show never nominated for Best Drama.

I cant believe how formulaic shows like Boston Legal and House keep squeezing out shows like BSG, The Shield, and The Wire.
