Look on the bright side. The Montana GOP wants the right to ride around without seatbelts being a primary offense.

Seatbelts

We oppose laws that would change Montana’s seatbelt law from a secondary offense to a primary offense except with respect to child restraint systems. Montana drivers should be punished for driving illegally and not because the driver was driving in a safe manner, without wearing a seatbelt.

I would encourage anybody who wants gay sex to be illegal, to ride around without any seatbelts and with a blindfold on.

When it comes to their "less government," "conservative," and "family values" ways; that's certainly how they legislate.



I'd ad that they should all be driving specific color pickup truck (so that the rest of us could identify them), with their supporters riding in the bed of the truck hanging on.

construct remember that bill in the Texas Legislature a few years ago where the Texas GOP was accused of being "Anti-Hispanic" because they supported allowing "Mexican children" to ride in the back of pick up trucks without any restraints?

It certainly seems to be a odd mix of extreme libertarianism (no seatbelts) and religious/social right moralizing (sodomy) you would think the two were polar opposites.

They never have anything to say when it comes to their party's gay-hating, because there simply is no good answer.

They just try to ignore it.

I do tend to notice that the reactionaries lay low until any gay related political issue is swept aside by some partisan political pissing match over something their hated leader does.

It can only be a matter of hours before the FOX machine goes into overdrive to get the heat off God's Own Party.

That's a shame because MT is beautiful. Great skiing, fishing and hunting. The folks I met were very Libertarian. Most concerned with property rights and had a healthy distrust of government. Hell, the government doesn't trust the government there. Stayed at a gay bed and breakfast with my partner. They do have an annual Pride Parade, so I didn't see any real anti gay sentiment.

It's a shame to see that in the republican manifestos, but it's been decided by the Supreme Court. They need to get over it.
