I've never heard such ridiculous crap pseudo-scientific trash in all my life.

The idea that a galactic 'collision' which takes BILLIONS of years to manifest itself is somehow going to affect the Earth in the span of a few years is ludicrous and laughable.

The various gravitational pulls mean that effectively, all stars and matter just end up swinging past each other. The effects of what is called 'proper motion' is self-evident of this - stars nearest the Sun very SLOWLY change their position relative to us, but only move tiny distances of parallax over centuries. We are further protected by the Sun's magnetic field and gravitational sphere of influence, together with that of Jupiter.

The Sagittarius Dwarf galaxy is tens of thousands of light-years away on the other side of our Galaxy, and is obscured by the Milky Way. It poses NO danger whatsoever, and never will.

Why do people think that the Mayan calendar ending means the world will end? Our calendar ends every December 31...no one thinks the world is going to end then, do they?

The Mayan calendar ISN'T ending. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't count down.

What's happening on 21-Dec-2012 is that we're reaching the end of the 13th b'ak'tun of the Mesoamerican Long Count (which was used by pretty much all the indigenous peoples of central America, not just the Maya). The association with the 2012 freakout is because the Popol Vuh states that the previous creation ended on a Long Count of 12.19.19.17.19, but there's nothing in any of the legends to suggest that that the current one will, and there are LOTS of inscriptions referring to dates higher than 13.0.0.0.0.
 
Before I die in any Doomsday Scenario I want a definition of "pulama." See posts #'s 21 and 22.

And if you guys die on Doomsday I don't want to be the only one left.
