Renaissance’s The Masters series tends to stick to big room hand-raisers, with Deep Dish, Hernán Cattáneo and James Zabiela all contributing previous instalments. Their latest mixer, though, is a more storied proposition. Francois Kevorkian came up in the early 1980s spinning in legendary spots like Studio 54 and The Paradise Garage. A slew of high profile releases and remixes followed, and he consolidated his hold on the NY house scene in the mid 1990s with the legendary Body & SOUL parties, run alongside Danny Krivit and Joe Claussell.

The 2xCD The Masters set features some familiar friends, including Objekt’s precision engineered ‘Porcupine’ and Blawan’s ’6 To 6 Lick’. A hitherto unheard track from Scuba will also feature. Tuff City Kids, Mike Huckaby, Trevino, Alden Tyrell, Factory Floor and A Made Up Sound all make the cut.

The Masters Pt. 20 will arrive on April 22. Peep below to check out the tracklisting.

GIORGIO MORODER - SCHLAGERMORODER (VOLUME 1: 1966 – 1975)

The collection chronicles Moroder's career before he did his best-known work in disco and film. The two-disc set is out on April 22 in the UK through Repertoire Records

The secret 1960s / early 1970s past of legendary disco / soundtrack producer Giorgio Moroder, now all gathered together for the first time in a collection of 51 tracks packed on to a 2CD set!

The ‘Schlager’ of the title refers to catchy German chart pop. Moroder’s versions featured early use of the synthesiser.

Includes his own US Top 50 version of ‘Son Of My Father’ (a UK chart-topper when covered by Chicory Tip) and Eurohit ‘Looky Looky’, for which he was awarded his first ever gold disc in 1970.

Material was released under the names GIORGIO, GEORGE or SNOOPY, and was successful in several territories in several languages.

Munich-based Moroder was Italian-born, hence the Italian language versions of six tracks on this set.

An essential companion collection to the recent Repertoire ‘On The Groove Train’ releases.

The in-depth liner note by journalist Michael Heatley gives insight as to how Moroder developed his distinctive musical style.

Expertly remastered – superb sound – top quality reproduction. The best in the business!
