2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Chicago takes game 1.
Chicago 4 - Boston 3. Final/3ot
An epic game. Unquestionably, the two best teams in the league! I think NBC is airing all finals' games. Whoever tunes in will have a real treat in store. ..|

Down 3-1, Hawks wouldn't quit. :=D:

I'm a Black Hawks fan too. The 2010 playoffs were my dream come true, when both my hometown Flyers and my Western favorites were the finalists. (But I was the only one around here who was OK with the Hawks winning!)

I like a lot of the Bruins, especially their "Euro import" Milan Lucic (born in that exotic continental city of Vancouver). ;) And I had no problem rooting for them in 2011. But THIS year is different.

I stayed up for the triple overtime goal Wednesday night. (But I cheated...I slept before the game.)

Games 2 and 3 will not be on regular NBC: they're on NBC Sports Network. The rest will be on regular NBC.

Last Blackhawk Stanley Cup was in 1961. NBC is insane not to carry games 2 and 3. I am asked to believe that the ratings will be better if they show their regularly scheduled dreck.

As far as the series is concerned, it will be interesting to see how Boston responds to Nathan Horton's injury. I wish them well.

FLASHBACK 2010:

.
Boston 2, Chicago 1. Off to Beantown. Nobody (even moi) said it was going to be easy. ](*,)

Monday night, 7:00 p.m. CDT.

Apparently it's a sop to cable operators for carrying NBC Sports Network. When they're not broadcasting hockey or soccer, they're actually pretty worthless. They haven't found a formula for a successful morning show; during these hockey playoffs, they're actually rebroadcasting the previous night's game at 6:30 AM. And they have nothing worth watching in the early evening. ESPN is having troubles and had layoffs and cancellations this month, but I don't think NBC Sports Network's competition has much to do with that.

Granted, ANYTHING is better than Fox Sports.

I will be at Game 3 of the Stanley Cup with my brother. I had plunk down $500 for a seat for me. It will be well worth it. I guess half a grand is well worth the bonding that my bro and me can share for a night LMAO!
I hope you and your brother enjoyed the game. Better team won. :=D:

Hawks are 0-10 on the power play. One can't expect too much. :(

.

Hawks Win! 6-5 in overtime (only one) Back to Chitown and that fine home cookin'! :D

Yup, back to the land of GREAT pizza.

I plan to watch Saturday night's game at my favorite gay sports bar in Philadelphia. I may aggravate people by wearing my '2010 Stanley Cup Final' t-shirt, with the BlackHawks' and Flyers' logos - it's still a sore point around here - but hell, they ARE my TWO favorite teams.

I'll be watching too. IMHO, I think it would be a mistake to pull Corey Crawford unless he really gets hammered early. The word epic is worth repeating. Have a good time!

That's awesome!! I was at two of the Cup Final games in 2007 for my team - definitely an incredible experience I will never forget, even though we knew we didn't have a chance lol. But we won one of the games I was at, which was just an incredible experience to be a part of.

Hawks win 3-1! Home cooking must have helped. lol

Terrific game, but I hate injuries. Toews and Bergeron are hurt.

Monday, back to Boston - 7pm CDT. Only 60 minutes left. ;)

Another 2010 Flashback

To sleep, perchance to dream... the Bard of Avon

Rooting for the Blackhawks in this one. I don't like any team from Boston.

I'll be watching tonight...but probably not at my favorite bar. The bartender Monday nights doesn't much like hockey.

Go Hawks!

Hoping Boston can win at home tonight and force Game 7. To the person who said this series has been boring . . . . . really??

Tonight's the night (maybe)! 7pm CDT. (!)

Toews probably will play. :D
Bergeron probably won't. :(

Crunch time for both teams. May the better team win. Go Blackhawks! :=D:

P.S. Whoever has been bored with this series should start watching curling or competitive poker. That's excitement.

Terrific finale to the Stanley Cup playoffs! An amazing victory for the ages by the Black Hawks. Congratulations, Chicago!
